Los Robles Greens Golf Course
About
Nestled in the foothills of the Conejo Valley, Los Robles Greens Golf Course is less than 40 miles from L.A. but feels much further thanks to the beautiful mountain surroundings. It sits at 900 feet above sea level and tumbles across a variety of elevation changes. The towering, mature oaks that line the fairways characterize the course. The diverse layout offers both wide and narrow fairways, water hazards, and thick cuts of rough. The undulating greens are also lightning fast. The course is a fair challenge but still gentle enough to appeal to a range of skill levels. Although it is a public golf course, the beautiful setting and excellent course conditions gives Los Robles Greens the feel of a private club, which makes it a great value for the price.

Going Downhill
I like Los Robles generally...in my last three rounds I find the course to have some issues; from the changes on the course to the foodservice, I find that the value and experience are suffering. The changes to make the course harder involves more traps, deeper traps and useless plants inside the traps that make no sense for speed of play. Slow play made a 5-1/2 hour round seem like 6-1/2 hours...I got a good deal last time on Golf Now but I heard that the new green fee for 18 holes on weekends is $72.00 which is way over-priced for this venue. Won't be going back anytime soon.
Fun Day
The course was challenging yet playable by any level of golfer. Keep your ball below the hole hole to keep your scoring down.
Long and the short of it
It's not a long course (par 70) but the round took quite a loooooooooong time. Get a Marshall out there!!
The course is gorgeous...the weather was perfect, and the wait at every SHOT was excrutiating!
There's a huge push to speed the game up these days... Please get someone out there. Two warnings before you are asked to pick up your ball or leave or SOMETHING!
Reconstructed, and in great condition.
The end of the drought. and major refurbishment has transformed this lovely course. The fairways are lush and the greens near perfect. New drought tolerant Brown areas with new plantings of drought resistant plants have bedded in well. Many of the bunkers have been completely reconstructed, and are best avoided because they are deep with steep sides, and the sand is rather powdery. Not easy to get in and out of the of for the older golfer! This course is a great test of golf and practice facilities are first class. A lot of thought has gone into getting things right here.
Nice course
Played from the whites with 3 locals made it easy they were able to keep let me know where I should miss. The greens were fast in comparison my course . Lots of undulations. There was a lot of maintenance going on and the pace of play was slow. The weather made up for it .
Bee problem.
We were swarmed by tens on thousands of bees at hole 13. It was like a 50 foot cloud. Found out from staff they had a similar problem the day or two earlier. They need to take this more seriously and hire a professional to take care of the problem. We were stung multiple times it was not to serious enough but could have turned out much worse.
Nice track
nice track and makes you shape shots! good greens with a lot of subtle breaks!
Very long day
I grew up playing this course but stopped playing years ago because it took to long to get through a round. I found a "Hot Deal" through the website so decided to play. I checked in as a single 20 mins before my 10:48 tee time. I was informed they were runnning 20 mins late. I got off with another twosome sandwiched between a foursome and twosome around 11:10. We waited on every hole and at 3:30 we had played through 12 holes. I left. Tee times are 6 mins apart so it's a typical muni course that tries to get as many people ($$$$) through the course on any given day. Will not play again.
Very enjoyable round
Played as a 3 some
90% rule in effect much better than cart path only
Cart Sharing
When I went to pay my g=reen fees I mentioned to clerk that I wa willin to share the cart fee. She said she would mention that to the single. When he arrived he had a cart issued to him and said the girk]l did not tell him of my offer.
When we got to the starter he took one of the carts from us and us both ride in a single. Since he took mine I was paying for a cart I was not able to use and they made money on a green fee + cart. This could be how they increase their sales. I felt I should have been reimbursed for my cart fee. I will recommend this course to my friends but I will tell them about this experience
over priced over rated over it
this is not a mean review… this is just an honest one. my reason for playing this course the 5 times I've played is one reason.. i live less than a mile away. here is my list. 1. no one should have to pay more than 30$ to play this course. we all know golf has become a very expensive thing to do now days. i feel courses like this one should be a place to play that you say "wow that was a really nice course for the price." not the opposite. its very over priced. too many way better courses out there for that price or less.
2. if you have a full day to play "18 holes" this is the place. definitely not your twilight course cause its highly unlikely you will finish. cause i have yet to finished a twilight round there yet.
3. half your round is nestled along the 101 freeway. so if you looking for the sounds of nature while playing your round.. again.. not the place.
4. driving range is absolutely horrible
5. staff shouldn't act as if los robles is sherwood country club. IT ISNT.
this is not a course for all types of players. tho its a short course.. for the average golfer its very tough. to many trees/obstacles when you miss the fairways.. big undulating greens thats obviously to make this course as tough as they can make it. and every time i played it the pin placements are awful. were not playing in the final round of the masters guys. if your a big hitter off the tee you'll hit driver more than you think for one reason.. the longer holes are all into the heavy everyday afternoon winds. its right by the freeway and located in the windier part of thousand oaks.i play at a 1 handicap. and this little course can get ya. so if your a high handicapper or a once a month golfer remember golf is fun. don't pay almost 60 bucks to just get annoyed or angry all day. go play somewhere that your going to have a good day.. i mean (4 hours or less) have fun playing golf. all in all… its over priced, round is too long, and there is better courses out there with much better prices. hope this helps you. again not trying to be rude or mean. being 100% honest :)
All golfers know Saturdays are busy in the Los Angeles area.
