Woodley Lakes Golf Course

Played at 840am. Greens were in the beat shape I’ve seen in quite some time. Fairways were bouncing back from where they were during the summer. I really enjoy this course wide open fairways and huge greens but a lot of the greens are on little shelves. So make sure you have enough club. A lot of the time it’s and extra club to hit the target. This course is very walkable. Enjoy!

I heard and read about what LA City Golf said on its Instagram page, about how it awarded the crew at Woodley for the work they put into the course etc. So I figure I’d give it a try, since it had been a long time that I had played here, thinking well, the course must be in great shape. NOPE. So not. Same old Woodley. All they had done was fix the tee boxes. Face palm here. They fixed the unnecessarily HUGE tee boxes on some of them. Not all of them. But the rest of the course is the same. The bunkers were trashed, not raked, and no rakes in them, of course, due to COVID. Greens were mushy, too wet, so they were covered in ballmarks that the lazy muni golfers don’t fix. I should never expect anything else. What award did these people receive? For what ?

The driving range is still on mats. Why? Seems to me that it would be better on the real grass here where they would move the line every day, than having people hit off the same mat in the same place every day, all day, especially if the mats are not being disinfected after every customer!!! And that goes for every driving range with mats!!! Think about it - do you honestly think disinfecting it once or twice a day is enough? Shouldn’t mats and its area be disinfected after every use? Why not? If you go to a restaurant you expect the tables to be wiped down after every customer, right? Oh and the balls at the range here are filthy. So dirty. If you go to Encino at least those balls are clean.

So what employees won what award for what? What did they do?

A wide open course that is playable for beginners and experienced players. The course was in very good shape for November 1, and the greens were is outstanding shape. Very fair, and receptive to quality shots. I've played this course at least 65 times and it delivers a quality challenge depending on tee box and it is a great walking course.

Apparently Thursday is no cart Thursday they should mention that somewhere in the app, had to walk the course and could only do a few holes do to my knee injury besides that it’s a fun course to play at.

Really fun course. Great pace of play and friendly staff.

Definitely will play here again.

Paid $9 on deal code, got 9 holes in, can't complain.

I love the course and staff not a fan of the pace of play. We had beginners in front of us and were 40 minutes behind by the 6th hole called the starter window to send a Marshall 4 times to no luck of having one brought out even being told they would. This is three times in a row this has happened playing here. The lack of assistance alone was enough for the 3 star review. Good value and decent greens. The course is well kept.
