Sapelo Hammock Golf Club

Love this course- the layout, the value, the amenities. All are excellent for a golfer of my skill and expectations. The food at the grill is great, prices are reasonable, and the greens were in the best shape I've seen since I've been playing at Sapelo. Will definitely be back soon.

This is a top notch course. Greens are true, layout is challenging but fair, and the scenery is awesome. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful course and is well maintained. We could only play 9 holes before we were rained on. There was no issues getting a rain check. We will play this course again. The course is out of the way,(50 minute ride from Savannah) but well worth the ride.

Sapelo Hammock has the friendliest staff and members. The course is in great shape and the layout is fun to play. Beautiful scenery, challenging holes with several forced carries. The course slope and rating seem low. Bunkers are mainly used as a distant target, they don’t come into play that often. Best of all the pace of play is always good even when they are busy.

First time playing the course was interesting, I will definitely be back for a second and many more rounds. The trees can make it challenging, along with the wind on the back 9. We had a great day and enjoyed the splendid atmosphere in the cafe for a quick bite

Early tee times means no pressure for you on the course as most players dont start until lunch or later here. Super friendly staff, and for the are this is an incredibly well maintained course. If you aren't going to play Hilton Head or The Westin, then this should be your first choice.

All four of us had a great day, the course was in excellent condition. The definition from rough to fairways looks very nice & the greens were faster than the last time I played around a month ago. I’d heard from a number of different people in our local restaurant, that had played during the last month & everyone said, you have to go & play sapelo, it’s in great shape, so superintendent, keep up the great work people are talking about the course.

It was a long way to travel to play, however, the course was in nice shape from the tees to the greens. I had my best round of the year going up the back nine when i ran into the mower man. The guy (older man) saw me but refused to move out of the fairway so i could tee off. Afraid i was going to hit him with my drive i played for a different shot and ended up in the trees twice. So much for that great round. Also Sapelo Hammock much be COVID free because no protection was offered for the golfers in the flag holes, sand racks were out and no people with masks in the club house that i could see.

A fun and challenging course. Fairways were narrow and forced a more accurate tee shot. Touted as the back nine being laid out over the marsh, I was slightly disappointed to find that on 17&18 were truly on the marsh. The greens were a little slow but were true. The course was crowded which was expected for a Saturday morning but play was smooth and we had to wait very little. The course layout was nowhere to be found, making a first timer question exactly where I was headed. No GPS is fine but not even a layout on the scorecard. I will definitely be making a return trip, well worth the green fees. Staff and management were extremely friendly and helpful.

This course was great in so many ways. Definitely challenging, but good for all levels of golfers. Especially enjoyed the back nine marsh holes, unlike anything I’ve ever played. Staff were kind, professional and helpful. Pro shop had a good selection of women’s clothing. Was especially happy to find a cafe with great food and even better desserts. Wildlife sightings a plus. A nice place to spend the day, or maybe a lifetime.

I absolutely love this course. A little out of the way but that's kind of a good thing because it's not as busy as others. Wonderful layout, excellent conditions, friendly staff. They really do a great job here.

Greens were top dressed which was disappointing since I drove 4hrs from central Florida to meet a friend based upon recent reviews. Killed all scoring on difficult green complexes.

Cart paths are abysmal, terrible after a long car ride to boot.

Par 3s are no joke and I highly recommend 1st timers stay off Black tees. 9th hole black tees required 240y carry over marsh, today into wind and rain was playing at least 270y in the air. That’s a tall order with ZERO bailout space.

Fairways were good, chipping areas were lush but maybe a touch long. Tee boxes were 8/10 with a few uneven spots.
