Sapelo Hammock Golf Club

Typically play on the Islands where golf is at least 85 a round but this was super cheap and was absolutely beautiful. The Marshland was just wonderful and I couldn’t stop taking pictures. The course was amazing and the greens didn’t have a bad spot on them. Challenging play but not too much that it wasn’t fun. Long par 3s were a bit tough but I will more than likely make the extra fifteen minute drive to play here regularly due to value. The lady at the desk was so accommodating and when I got lost I called the desk and she actually came outside to help! Who does that? Only complaint was pace of play. I was either behind a very slow foursome or had someone up my rear the entire time. But that’s not the courses fault.

Great hidden course 45 min south of Savannah. Great views of the salt water marsh. Makes one feel like your in the movie Legend of Bagger Vance. The course is sneaky long with some very challenging par 3s and 5s. Greens are a bit slow but true. Well worth the money

This course is well worth the drive to this beautiful layout. Fairways were great and the greens were a little slow but true. I will come back again and again

First time here and I loved it. The first 6-7 holes were ok then the fun began on 8. Played 203 into a stiff breeze over the marsh. Then the tee shot on 9 is a brute. Enjoyed the entire back 9. Greens rolled smooth but slow. The property is beautiful with all the oak trees. It’s a 3 hour ride fro my house but, I will be back.

Outstanding all around. Georgia in the clubhouse is Awesome.

Course in great shape, gnats were brutal though when in the shade or no breeze.

OMG. $50 to play this hole. No break in costs. Tee box and fairways have little to no grass. Greens are painted to look nice but are in horrible condition. Played here for years but this is the worst I have seen it. Not worth the money.

Cold and windy Saturday afternoon. First time playing the course. Had small lunch at clubhouse (limited selections) but prepared hot and fresh. The gentleman tending the bar (used for golfer check in and pro shop and bar) was very nice and had some great intel on the course. He did let us know of some hidden hazards and where to miss on certain holes (wish I would have been able to heed the warnings). Fairways and greens in typical conditions for this time of year. Greens rolled true and a little on the fast side. Can't wait to come back in growing season. Bring bug spray. If you get the chance make the drive and play this course, you will love it.

We play here around 8-10 times a year, this is the worst condition I can remember. It was hard to tell the difference between the fairway & rough, the fairways were dirt & weeds. The greens were patchy too & the fringes around the greens. I know it’s winter time, but other courses around our area aren’t having the same problems. We’ll be back again when it gets back in better shape. Also when people write reviews, please write the truth so people don’t travel to play a course that has a 5 star review & is nowhere near 5 star..

Just a great course, laid out in old live oak forests and marshes. Grass is a little thin in spots, but a few more warm days like today and it will return. Very nice folks running the place, as well as friendly volunteers who were working on patching thin spots. They all take pride in this course, as they should. Hope to make this place a regular part of my golf game.

Enjoyed the day the greens were in great shape and I enjoyed the layout and the views.

I never had played this course, but was told it was worth the drive from. St. Simons. I couldn’t agree more !!

This course is an incredible value....the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the course generally was in good condition, and it was a nice challenge for my mid handicap level. While the fairway turf was a bit thin in spots, the greens were in good condition and rolled pretty true. I’ll be back down the road.
