Candlewood Country Club

This is musty old country club, like walking into your 80 yo grandpa's house that hasn't been updated in a few decades.

The front 9 is pretty decent, but the back 9 is boring as can be, with back and forth parallel fairways.

course was in great shape. Greens were faster than

we are used to playing so it took getting use to.

will play again!

One of the better courses you can play in LA. Course is tree lined and is in pretty good shape. Some dirt and bare spots on the fairways. Green were good and had some subtle slopes.

Not a 65 dollar course greens good but bad shap for a so called country club could have saved a few bucks and played Rio Hondo

Staff not kind

The good:

- Pace: Sunday 12:30p tee time and we flew around the course, finishing in 4 hours.

- Layout: decent, challenging for a mid-handicapper

- Golfboards you can rent; costs more ($22 per) but very fun

- Value: GN hot deal for $36

The bad:

- Condition: You can tell the course is in tough; greens and fairways mostly green but plenty of rough areas/GUR

Overall:

- Would play again if in the $40-50 range; not worth the 35-40 min drive if more

Been dying to play this course for some time now. Finally got to play it and absolutely loved it. Course was in great condition and gave us all enough challenges to keep us coming back... thank you to the staff and grounds keeper for a job well done. Looking forward to my next round there.

Staff was helpful and friendly, very narrow fairway, greens were in terrible conditions, divot all over the green with out repair. I guess I was expecting too much for a country club.

Course new to me opening some tee times to gain more income. Great round with other first time players. Greens are a little hard to read. Members get priority treatment over you so be patient. Wish all amenities were available. I would have paid extra just to try. Overall a great place. I would definitely go back

The course is in bad shape all around; unacceptable for a private club Drought must have taken lot of toll on the course. Fun playout to play though .

My second time playing this course and it was a great experience. Gotta use all the clubs in the bag, shape both ways, and the greens are in great shape. I'm glad this course is open to the public even though it's a private course. I might even join with the specials they have going on right now!

Played this gem of a course for the 2nd time and enjoyed it very much! Good value, challenging course, great layout, and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you haven't played here before. Will definitely be going back for more rounds.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME. WE CAUGHT UP WITH TWO MEMBERS THAT ALLOWED US TO PLAY WITH THEM, CARL AND HELENA MADE US FEEL WELCOME. IT WAS A PLEASURE PLAYING WITH THEM. WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THEM FOR BEING SO FRIENDLY. WOUL LIKE TO PLAY THE COURSE AGAIN.

Candlewood is a private club that just recently offered a handful of times on GN.

I was pretty excited to get a tee time (rates are very fair and well worth it) so I booked a foursome.

Conditions were great, challenging, and my impressions is that you will need to play the course a few times to know the layout. Greens are fast! No pace of play issues at all.

Staff, food (try the tuna wrap or grab a sandwich upstairs) and all other amenities were excellent.

I'm coming back.

I played here 30 some odd years ago and founr the course to be in pretty good shape even though the greens were a little long in anticipation of arrification the following Tuesday. Nice little track and plenty of thought provoking holes. I recommend this course to anybody. Just stay out of the rough... It's ROUGH!!!

The staffs didn't explain about charging five bucks for using range balls. I would have gladly paid this hidden fee it it was indicated on the reservation sheet. Green is super fast but fairway has many brown and dead spots.

Golf course is narrow & short, and fast & small green condition. Money worth..... questions !!!!
