Great for the money!
This course is great! You're paying small course rates for essentially 18 holes. Yes, this course has 12 holes so to play 18 you go back to the first 6. I actually love this because I don't have to play the full 18 if I don't want to. The greens are well kept albeit a little wet during winter, but still way better than most places I've been. Considering this is a desert course that's pretty impressive. I live out here and can barely keep my yard green. The fairways are wide and open so it's great for beginner to intermediate play. It's a smaller course, but it doesn't feel small. You can still break out your driver plenty and the layout is pretty decent. I've made this my regular practice course and I love it! The staff is friendly and as long as you aren't going out on a Saturday or Sunday you aren't feeling rushed. In fact, the last 3 games I played I hardly saw anyone. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to play for fun or for some good practice. If you're looking for a challenge then go to Palm Springs or Indio to some of the larger courses.
Fun and well maintained
I really enjoyed this course, it was a nice change of pace from the overpriced tracks in Palm Springs. It was very well maintained, extremely playable, and the views were wonderful. I played it in the afternoon and again the following morning and it was a little windy both rounds; nothing crazy, just enough to make things interesting. Every member of the staff was extraordinarily friendly and informative. It is a 12 hole course but they allow you to play either one of the 6 hole loops if you want to make it a full 18, which I thought was really cool. All in all, I would highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you’re a mid-high handicapper like myself
Great Day!
We enjoyed our day at Hawk’s Landing, fun layout, friendly staff at check in would definitely recommend a day in the high desert!,
Worth the trip
A little far off the beaten path but well worth the trip. This 12 hole course was in great shape and the gal in the pro shop treated us well.
Wedding Party Interruption
Though we paid for a full round we only got to play 12 holes because a wedding celebration was on the course and we couldn't finish our last 6 holes. The golf was very slow and there was no marshal. (3+ hours for 12 holes) We asked for a raincheck - left our information - but as of yet (24 hours later) have received no response. The restaurant was also closed due to the wedding party.
nice design
greens are almost healed from punching, otherwise course in fine shape. Much more feature to this 'resort' course than others in the area. Water coming into play gives holes identity, currently my favorite local resort course. Island green finish is nice.
It’s a Muni.
They have two 6 hole loops. To play 18, you go back to one and play the first 6 again. So it’s kinda lame. On the plus side, the staff was extremely friendly and kind. It’s just not what I was expecting, but it is the closest course to Joshua Tree.
Betty
Pleased with the course. No houses, wide fairways, cushy greens made for enjoyable day.
Great time for beginners
Tee time was 1:40 with plenty of time for play. For the price we paid the course was great and the pace was no rush. The trees are not forgiving so I recommend playing safe. The greens and fairways are pretty good. We like trying different courses so I know we’ll stop by again especially those specials.
