Weather
We had to quit after eight holes as the weather was so bad and cold with rain. The staff were exceptionally nice. It is 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Indio so if you had out there be prepared it was cold and windy when we were there and rainy.
Fun for a warmup
Cute little course but we played behind 4 absolute beginners who took forever so had to skip some holes to actually play..
Not for serious golfer
This may be fun for a newbie but way too slow due to the many players in front of us who had probably never played before. Had to skip some holes in order to play. Some greens were in terrible shape. Couldn’t post score as course never came up. Would not go back.
Can be very windy, some greens very rough.
Overall for the price a nice little course, some of the greens are very poor but should improve. Can be very Indy in these cool February afternoons. Had to use the golf cart to chase down my hat when the wind blew if off my head, really. Will golf here again.
A Great Day of Golf in Yucca Valley
We were on a golf trip to Palm Springs and needed to shake off the rust at a local course, before tackling the “biggies”. Hawks Landing Golf Course in Yucca Valley fit the bill, and was a fun and challenging time for all members of our group. Some of the greens were lacking a complete and smooth covering of grass, but otherwise the course was in good condition. Because of the unique layout (12 holes), we played holes 1 to 6, then 7 to 12, and then 7 to 12 again to complete a full 18 holes. After the round, we had burgers and hotdogs in the course restaurant … absolutely delicious. The staff (starter, grounds crew, and restaurant staff) were all friendly and helpful. A great start to a golf vacation in Palm Springs!

Be prepared for cold strong wind in February and a dry course
Wow
Terrible pace of play only 12 holes and very busy. Only one worker in the Pro shop and he was jammed with customers. Good practice facility.
I wouldn’t return
Good beginner's course with good pace of play
This was my first round at Hawk's Landing. It began on a very windy, cold first hole but improved thereafter. The course fairways were not in particularly good condition and the greens were wet and spongy but as I'm only now getting back into golf I was just happy to be out playing and appreciated the low rate and quick pace of play. I'll definitely return.
Good value
If you’re expecting a resort course you’ll be be disappointed. If your expecting a nice course with friendly staff and a great group of regulars you’ll love it.
Nice little course but far too many groups allowed on!
The course overall is OK. on this weekday the pro shop booked or let far too many twosomes and foursomes on the course. Most holes were backed up 2-3 groups, waiting and waiting and waiting. So much so that we only played 12 of the 18 holes we payed for.
I spoke to the pro shop after we turned our cart it and they said the busiest day in a long time. My advice to pro shop, time your starting groups and limit players. We will try this course again as it is very close to us, next time better?
