Foothills Golf Course - Championship 18 Course
About
The Championship 18 Course at Foothills Golf Course is one of three courses at the Foothills facility, but it is the only 18-hole course of the three. Built in 1971, Dick Phelps designed the course. The public course is 6,908 yards at its championship tees. Although the course is relatively flat, there are some hills that cause uneven lies. The course features other difficulties as well. Pretty lakes and creeks create water hazards that come into play on some holes. The greens are bent grass while the fairways are covered in Bermuda grass. There is also a putting green and on-site teaching pro to help golfers with their game.

Great course
Great course, always in great condition! Staff is always friendly and course is always a gem!
Beautiful scenery
Always been a favorite of mine! Love playing this course!
Fun Stuff
Foothills colf course has been a fine place for all the years I have been going there. Which is ALOT .
I would play in the mens league but I personally do not care for the format unless it has changed. It should be a Full group Shotgun setup. But that is just My opinion.
Great play, very slow pace
We were a foursome walking 9 holes. Course looked great. The only problem was after the 3rd hole we caught another foursome who appears to be waiting on a twosome. This continued throughout the rest of the remaining holes. At times we were waiting 15 minutes to hit after completing the previous hole. At no time was there an employee trying to speed up play. I understand we are playing during times of uncertainty but there is still plenty of space on the course where one can maintain social distancing and help speed up slower groups.
Not worth the money!
Winter golf conditions are acceptable in February but for summer fees is ridiculous. No tee markers on tee boxes or rakes for bunkers. Course is way overrated for layout also. If you are going to play a foothills course the Meadows is a lot better than the foothills course. I’m one and done with this course!
Good public course!
Although the course is a little overpriced for the quality of course, the pace of play and course conditions are worth the price for someone looking at different courses are in the Denver area.
Course was closed
The course was closed. I paid a $2.49 convenience fee to drive 15 miles to find the course was closed. Why didn’t GolfNow know the course was closed? How do I get my money refunded?
A BasiC Course
It is a basic course, but well maintained. It is fairly easy. The fairways are generous, but their are a fair number of trees. The pace of play was rather slow, and I barely finished by dark, despite a 1:15 p.m. start
Last taste of summer
High of 80F meant we had to play and this course was close. Enjoy walking this course, good views of the front range.
Nice Course
Flew into Denver for a weekend and played this course. Nice staff, beer cart was very active, and the course was fun. Even spotted some local wildlife. Recommend this course.
Sloooooooow.
There was a big group out in the course that kept playing two groups at a time off the tee and played multiple balls, and the rangers did nothing. Quit after 11 after I caught them on the back 9 and took 80 minutes to play two holes. Completely ridiculous as the rangers were on the course and did nothing to address it.
Nice course, nice layout
Walked with a threesome that was riding. Pace of play was good, didn't really wait on any tees. Course was in good shape. Very nice practice facilities, grass tees on the range.
Average Course
The course itself is decent, has some interesting holes and is pretty forgiving. The greens and fairways were in decent shape as well.
That said, we got stuck behind a 5-some, not sure why they would let a group that size play in the late morning. Took just under 5 hours, which is not cool and it is frustrating having to wait around after every single shot. No ranger around to make sure the pace of play was good either.
Good course for a quick pkay
I played this course a few times and have always enjoyed it. Nice little course tucked away in the foothills with some really great views of the mountains.
