Foothills Golf Course - Championship 18 Course
About
The Championship 18 Course at Foothills Golf Course is one of three courses at the Foothills facility, but it is the only 18-hole course of the three. Built in 1971, Dick Phelps designed the course. The public course is 6,908 yards at its championship tees. Although the course is relatively flat, there are some hills that cause uneven lies. The course features other difficulties as well. Pretty lakes and creeks create water hazards that come into play on some holes. The greens are bent grass while the fairways are covered in Bermuda grass. There is also a putting green and on-site teaching pro to help golfers with their game.

Nice course l, nothing fancy.
This is nice flat course. I played with my son who is a beginner. It was perfect for him.
Wide open and greens were running true.
Fun and will be back
Rude staff, Ruined holiday
This was the worst treatment from a select few individuals of the golf staff that I have ever experienced. It's a really good thing my teen age son was not with me, they would have made him cry. 95% of the staff on this supposed to be enjoyable 4th of July were amazing! But the actions of a couple of bullies working at the course that day, completely ruined my holiday, and gave me the feeling that I was looked at like I wasn't good enough to be playing on their course, and that I wasn't valued either as a customer, or as a human being. I don't know if I would ever come back to play this course even if I was envited back. The course itself was in okay shape except for the greens witch were hard as rock and very discolored in many areas. I was also pretty unhappy with the condition of the cart we were given as the club and ball washer was bone dry and when I went to fill it up myself, all the water completely drained out and it wouldn't hold water. Its sad to see that the hard work and effort of the majority of the staff, was completely ruined by a couple of employees who should have no right to even work in the positions they have let alone work on a golf course period. The manager and the head pro should be completely ashamed by the actions of these employees and the lack of customer service being presented at this course. There are many other courses in the area that will not only value your business, but also will treat you with respect, no matter what day it is, your level of experience, or even how busy they are.
Hidden gem
Kinda tucked away but well worth it. The course is in great shape and the layout is fantastic. They have 3 courses and a great set up for players from beginner all the way through good players. I highly reccomend giving it a try. You wont be disappointed.
Great Course poor pace of play.
The course and staff were great. I love this course but every time I play the pace of play is at least 30-45 minutes behind after 5 holes.
Solid muni track
This course is a very good value but just once I’d like to play it in under 4.5 hours.
Fantastic course, great service
Played at foothills a few times. Absolutely fantastic staff and course was a n amazing condition. Excellent Mountain View’s as well. If you’re ever in Colorado for golf, definitely hit this place. Close to downtown as well as the mountains !
Course in excellent condition
Amazingly surprised at how fast the pace of play was. The green and fairways were in great condition. Change of elevation on some of the holes makes the experience fun and interesting. Water comes into play on several holes providing high risk, high reward type of shots. Overall, a fun day at the course.
Good layout and staff, greens awful
This is a fun track that’s close to our house so we play here quite often. We especially enjoy the Executive course for a quick nine after work but we had some extra time and thought we’d try and squeeze in 18. The Championship course is a fun layout with spectacular views but unfortunately the greens were just terrible considering the time of year. Other courses in our area have perfect greens right now so we were a bit confused why these were patchy and full of holes. Can’t really blame the course for a foursome we caught on the 13th hole that literally ran to stay just ahead of us instead of letting us play through when there was no in front of them and no one behind us. Why do people do that? So frustrating but it’s hard to expect a facility to have a ranger on the course at 6:00 PM on a Friday night. All in all this course needs to get its greens together to be a good value. I wish them well.
Good track for errant tee shot. Wide open !
Good walking course. Can play long from the tips... (not for millennial bombers)
Great fairways
Fairways were in excellent shape. Greens still winter hard. 9 greens landed. Zero divots. But. It’s early.
Great value and fun course
I’ve played this course before and it is a great little course for the average golfer. Great views, decently spread out, hazards that ensure you have to adjust your approach. For the value it can’t be beat. It’s a bit early in the season, so the greens are still need some love, but the fairway, sand and rough are already in excellent shape!
Weekday golf
We play this course 5 or 6 times a year. Has mostly wide open fairways, and a few really tricky holes. Has a few elevated tee boxes with some nice views and is usually a little cheaper than some of the surrounding courses.
Always a great round!
This place is a lot of fun! Definitely had a few holes to force you make good shots and be smart. If you can drive the ball far it makes the course a bit easier. One pro tip... watch out for the Magpies! They will destroy your breakfast burrito, hot dog, bag of chips and even your muffin! They have no manners! Haha That being said it's a great course and I truly love playing there!
