Bobby Jones Golf Club - Championship Course

I play this coarse often and enjoy it. It's the best and most cost friendly coarse in the area. It has its challenge but is a fair test of your skills. They did a good job renovating it. The out of city price of $99 is fair too as the coarse is in great condition. I hope they keep it in great condition knowing its a public coarse is y worry. I prefer playing here than playing the far higher costs for other courses in the area. I recommend everyone to try it. Note, many of the comments online are very old when the coarse was a goat farm and in awful condition.

Staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. Special shout-out to the starter - Tim. Great practice facilities to warm up at. Greens and bunkers were in excellent shape. A very flat course with not a lot of character or shade - and it was a hot day. Didn’t feel like we got a great value for the cost of the round.

I had played this course over 5 years ago when it's condition was deteriorating. I had to play it once again to experience the remake it has gone through. Overall it is a decent course with a traditional feel of a Donald Ross Florida layout. I have played the Melbourne and Lake Wales tracks, both of which are pleasant. The whole problem with this course is that it is not a $100 course. It is way overpriced for what you get. Both of the other Ross courses noted above are $50 at most. The biggest joke was that there was a man waiting to "clean" your clubs at the end of the round. Having this "experience" at the end of a round at a municipal is a joke.

Recently redone. Greens and fairways in great condition. Very forgiving track.

Was pleasantly surprised in the overall condition and experience‘greens are in VG condition but boring as very little undulations but fun experience!

Friendly staff, nice layout, great pace of play - under 4 hours. No discounts for Florida residents or Sarasota County residents which is disappointing.

The fairways and greens were in great shape and I found the personnel friendly. The major complaint being the course is basically unmarked, very few if any 200, 150, and 100 yard markers. Yardage marked on sprinkler heads are inaccurate Golf yardage apps are useless. Starter said to download yardage app with QR code on golf cart but the QR print was faded and unreadable on both our carts. Vast improvement on newly designed course from 3 years ago but this is not a $100 course, even during a Florida winter!

Although it was a $100 bill, it is worth the extra $40 over the other public courses in the area, where the conditions are egregious.

Actual name is Bobby Jones Golf Club with several tee boxes available. Course was completely re-constructed over the past 3 years and recently re-opened. it's an open, wide fairway course with very large greens in great shape!

I use to play this course often when it was the old Bobby Jones golf course with the American

golf course and the British golf course. While it wasn't the best course it was somewhat challenging and affordable. I only played nine holes and was not impressed. The people who reconfigured this new golf course came in and took out allot of the trees , bulldozed all the buildings and put in more sand traps. They erased the heart of this course and took away all the challenges while making it less affordable.The Sarasota politicians messed this course up big time. Thanks for nothing.

The putting green is a joke and the course is like playing in a cow pasture. The price to play is doubled. In short there are alot of nicer golf courses to play and some for less money.

Very straightforward course. Not much imagination. Hard as rock tee boxes, but beautifully manicured. Greens were perfect (the highlight of the round). Cart paths need work.Having the new layout communicated to GPS rangefinders would help. The app is cumbersome.

The pace of play was a little slow, around 4 and half hours.

The was in very good shape, greens and fairways were in great shape.

Rangers did nothing to speed up play of 2 groups in front of us. They were drinking and mixing in a golf shot now and then. Beer girl was hanging with these guys pretty regular. Guess these guys were big tippers thinking beer girl liked them. Anyway made it hard to get into any rhythm.

This was our 2nd time playing at the Bobby Jones Ross course. The course has a nice layout and is well kept. The pace of play was reasonable . Overall it’s a very nice course and a decent value for your money !
