Bobby Jones Golf Club - Championship Course

For $100 / golfer, I’d appreciate the management of tee times to be better. The course is not terrible, but we waiting on every hole after teeing off nearly 20 minutes after our tee time. They just over book. If they can spread this out a bit, the course could be more enjoyable, but if you’re not willing to wait to hit, almost every shot, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

This Ross “gem” is a joke. The original course, even as badly maintained as it was, was a much better course. Since it’s new the fairways and greens are in fair shape but already getting thin spots from overplayed schedule. Tee boxes are hard as cement. Course is not getting enough water. Pace of play is worse in county. Practice area is best in area. In summary-overpriced, over played, a boring design with a great practice facility. Will practice here but play elsewhere.

These people r a bit nutz. The course is beyond overpriced and management is beyond rude. Me and my family will never be back. We have 2 scratch golfers and a 14 yr old that shoots mid 40s. By far the slowest course we have ever played down here. Made it through 9 and left because it was too pathetic

It’s hard to get in trouble here. If you have a decent short game, you’ll score. But it is not a pushover. That said, $90 is a bit steep for a muni…. and they charge for range balls!

It’s not worth 100.00 greens fee, it’s a 60.00 dollar fee course.

Not a lot of character here - flat and open but ok for the money - $100 on Golf Now for an 11:00 tee time during spring break. Service was great though.

Fairly good restoration of a Donald Ross gem, and the greens are in very good shape - hard and true. You can tell it's an old course by the front nine - not much to it, but there's enough tee options to make it as challenging as you like.

Friendly staff and a very good grass range and short game area. Green fee is on the higher side for what it is - but the convenience factor for being so close to downtown Sarasota makes up some way.

For a muni course - quite impressed.

The greens, tees and fairways were in excellent condition. The greens putted true. The traps had plenty of sand. We didn't wait for anyone but played late in the day. Not a lot of water for a Florida course.

This course is not a good value. It is too expensive for the quality that it is. You can see where it is going to get better as it matures.

While early in its life as a redo, this course checked many boxes, especially the quality of the greens. I will definitely be back!

First time to play since a complete renovation. The course still needs some time to come into its own. Really no rough to speak of so it's pretty wide open. Very flat with a few sculpted mounds. A little bit of water that's not much in play (ie. of the back of a green). All in an enjoyable course that isn't that challenging but I think will get better with some maturity.

I play this coarse often and enjoy it. It's the best and most cost friendly coarse in the area. It has its challenge but is a fair test of your skills. They did a good job renovating it. The out of city price of $99 is fair too as the coarse is in great condition. I hope they keep it in great condition knowing its a public coarse is y worry. I prefer playing here than playing the far higher costs for other courses in the area. I recommend everyone to try it. Note, many of the comments online are very old when the coarse was a goat farm and in awful condition.
