Resort Course
So not so challenging, and you can expect slow round. VERY difficult to find 1st on Palmer! Some nice holes, but over-all not bad, but not great. Fairly short. Probably will not return, but value and staff were excellent.
Palmer Course disappointing
First time in 2 years we had been out to the Palmer 18 at Saddlebrook. What was immediately obvious was that they had not cut the fairways in several days. It was like playing out of straggly rough. The greens were OK, but you could see where some had damage. The bunkers were actually in the best condition I had seen them. Plenty of sand and it was not packed down or wet.
The halfway house was open for the first time in 12 years. Hooked up with a single about 12 holes into the round. He said that normally the fairways were good, but the greens were "hairy" . It looks like they may have a money issue. Didn't see any maintenance workers out there.
New friends
I was a single the Saddlebrook staff introduced me to a group of 3 I had my own cart they made the extra effort making our golf round very comfortable! I would have no problem playing as a single at Saddlebrook!
Palmer Course - Nice layout
Wide fairways, greens in decent shape. Course amenities and facilities were in disrepair and very dated.
Great Experience!
Great course, friendly staff, played 18 with my son and had a great time. Will definitely be back!
Rough Shape
Frustrating that the course upkeep is so inconsistent. Tee box grass was as long as the rough, greens had burned out patches. Played a month ago and the course was manicured beautifully?
Old Hoosiers
Need to arrive early for valet and driving range. Nice course super hard 20-30 mph winds. Enjoy
Great course but tipping got to be too much
I’ve played both courses several times over the years but this time had to use valet parking which meant tipping the valet driver, tipping the guy that unloaded the clubs and placing them in the cart and then when round was over tipping the the very nice gentleman who insisted on wiping our clubs down, tipping the cart guy who loaded the clubs and brought us back to the valet service then tipping the guy who fetched our car.. For me who plays a lot I’d rather just go where I can put my own clubs on the cart and go play.
Greens were quick. Fairways in good shape.
For this time of year, the Palmer course is in good shape. The greens are fast and they are holding. Fairways are good with very few bare areas. Over all a nice course to play this time of year.
