Peacock Gap Golf Club
About
Peacock Gap Golf Club extends along the shores of San Pablo Bay, but it sits inland enough to avoid the fogginess of the coast and enjoy consistently sunny weather throughout the year. The course's layout has undergone many renovations over the years that have brought it to its current playability, including a new drainage system, new tee boxes, a reshaping of five of the greens, and relocation of bunkers. The golf course kept the classic features of its original layout though, such as the inviting fairways that still provide a challenge and the tricky greens that deceptively extend past where the player thinks they end. In addition to the course, Peacock Gap has also improved their practice facilities over the years. There is an all-grass driving range, two large practice greens, and a chipping green.

Fun Course Outside of San Francisco
My friends and I try to make it a point to regularly play golf outside of San Francisco. When we do, we typically head north to Peacock Gap for a variety of reasons. The course is beautiful and has multiple memorable holes including a Par 3 that plays over water. Additionally, the course has one of the few grass practice ranges in the area, so it's always nice to spend extra time getting some practice reps in. The staff has always been incredibly friendly to me and we often spend time afterward on the deck having a few post-round beers. All of this comes at a great discounted rate. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to have a fun round of golf.
Greens in great shape
With rains coming in this afternoon, I teed off early to get in a round before the winter wet starts in full. I played solo and after a twosome let me play through on hole #2, I had nobody in front of me. (FWIW, I teed off at about 7:15 AM).
I finished in TWO HOURS, which was due to it being cold and me not dilly dallying, not waiting on any shots and also shockingly playing pretty well.
I will say having played this course a lot, I did so because it tends to not drain all that great - it's an older course and the drainage is what you would expect. So this may be the last round for awhile if the winter is truly here. Peacock isn't cheap and with it being one of only two public 18-hole courses in Marin, they have a captive audience but the greens were in great shape and most of the bunkers were as well. No complaints with conditions today.
October Sunday at Peacock
The course was in good shape. The greens were the fastest I have seen in 43 years of playing this course, really good. Played in 4.5 hours, football games probably helped. Fun, medium-difficulty course.
Great Golf No Traffic
Why sit in traffic? Enjoyed a great time on an excellent course then drove the rest of the way home without traffic. The greens rolled good and the sand traps are in excellent condition.
Sandy greens
I really like this course, but several times I have booked without knowing that the greens were just sanded. I think they can do more to inform people of these conditions. This game is hard enough without putting in a sand box!
Consistently good
For the money, hard to find a better course. Great staff. Good condition even though the greens were punched.
Great neighborhood course
Staff is always great at Peacock. Very good practice facilities, except long drive is not allowed. Course is always in good to great condition when other courses are struggling. Greens tend to be on the slower side. Course is not very difficult but not boring either. Very good overall.
Good course - fairly open and flat
Does have its challenges but also quite a lot of wide-open spaces
Mediocre
The course is a mediocre layout (the Par 3’s are excellent!). The course is mediocre condition.
Well run practice facilities and course
Peacock Gap Is a step above a muni with better than average conditions. Practice facilities are a top feature with a grass driving range and good putting and chipping areas. Golf Now offers special
Rates which include a cart that are quite reasonable especially during the week.
Nice Course; but the wind was ferocious!
The course was in great condition and it was a nice sunny day, however, just before we started the wind came up and it intensified as our round continued into the late afternoon. It seemed to be at least 20mph with even higher gusts. It really made it hard to play and was a major distraction! Check on the wind conditions before you go out here, especially in the afternoon.
Good practice round
PG gives you the opportunity to use most clubs in your bag depending on your game. From the blue tees, its a fair test with wind conditions challenging your club selection. Greens are good and true. Well bunkered and stream running thru to test your shot making on several holes.
