Great East Bay Local Course
This is a solid local track in the East Bay and has quickly become one of my favorites. Like others have mentioned, the pace of play can be tough on the weekends. So I choose to play during the weekdays and it's a nice pace. The course is in fairly good shape given the amount of rain we've gotten this season. It drains well and the greens are always kept in good condition. Once twilight prices hit, this is a hard deal to beat. ~$35-40 to walk (very walkable - good exercise). Not too difficult, there are a few longer Par 4's that are cut by a ravine of sorts which makes the 2nd shot long. I play here once a week and will continue to do so!

Fun park course, needs some work.
Staff was friendly, pace of play was decent for a Friday morning round. Fairways are overgrown and rough is out of control on some holes. Greens are a little rough but bunkers were in good condition.

We expect things to return to normal going forward. Our greens will also be in their best shape after we aerate next week! Great Round today
The course was super wet but to be expected. First tee time of the day and it was our pace.!
Nothing better than getting that first tee time of the day! Nothing but open course and green grass in front of you... Also, we appreciate you starting the day off at a great pace! As the course dries out, it will only get better. Hope to see you back soon!
Marshals are required
Marshals are needed to maintain the pace of play and the prevention of the stupid things that can occur when there’s no supervision. Had to cut my round short due to darkness and the very slow pace. As I was driving in, came upon 8 guys playing as a group. They were all over a fairway. That was the cause of the very slow play.
on the mend
Course was severely flooded during our recent heavy winter rains this past December/January. Fairways have recovered to average winter standards. Tee boxes in poor shape, greens are getting better daily, they have been cut short and are fast by winter standards. A couple of months from now, should be back to very good . Good value, pace of play slow like most public courses in the bay area.
Course was in better shape, starting to dry out. Greens have a lot of marks and bumps and littered with pebbles from bunkers. Assuming they will be aerated soon.
Great course through the neighborhood.
Love the course layout. Each hole is fun to play especially the PAR 5's. Im about a 20+ handicap and feel that its friendly to my level of play. The only cons I can throw out there is some of the fairways feel thin because of the houses that surround it, your perception deceives you when youre hitting a tee shot. The other con is the quality of the greens, they are a bit beat up and messed up my lines because of a pitch or sand/dirt that some individuals don't tale responsibility for. Overall if the greens were taken care of more it would literally be a near perfect golf club. The chipping green, putting green, range, and first tee box are great and right next to eachother so practicing an hour or even 30 mins before a round is no problem.

Pace of play was horrible!
The day started off great with Dennis being friendly and informative! Unfortunately it went down hill after that. There was no marshal and we wound up waiting on every hole, ending up with a 5 hour 20 minute round.
The partially redeeming factor was the first warm day of this new year.
On your question "would you recommend this course to a friend", NO, not with over 5 hours time on a course that should be played in 4 hours 20 minutes or less.

Must Play Course on your Radar
San Ramon is a super positive course to play and practice. Super affordable. Great practice amenities. Just need to avoid the goose droppings.

This place is best suit to work on short game stuffs.. as the practice facility offers a lot.
Visiting the area for a few days, figured why not. This place looked good on paper.. however it was a total bait and switch.
Course: typical beater course with below average conditions. Not much excitement in course layout.. plain Jane at best.

Pace of play: super slow, given the cheap price this place is packed. Every group I saw was mostly walking 4’sum.
Fairways aren’t in the best shape. bunkers are playable.
Good luck out the rough. (Lack of maintenance, not design)

Overall, this course was a one and done for me. I prefer nice course conditions, clean carts and beautiful layouts .
