The view can easily distract you.
Even though it was 39 degrees. The course was in very good shape. The greens were outstanding. A challenging course but not so challenging that an amatuer couldnt play it. A friendly staff and gorgeous view.
Nice layout with LOTS of elevation changes.
I had a tee time at 12:50 as a single but got to the course an hour early. The nice lady in the golf shop said I could tee off whenever I was ready. So, I hit some of the free balls on the range and 15 minutes later I was playing.
The layout is pretty nice. When the fairways dry out they will be awesome. The greens are super fast. There is a lot of elevation changes. There is a 220 par 3 that is way down hill. A 190 par 3 that is way way down hill. The par 5s are almost all reachable from the blues for me.
There aren't any houses and the scenery is nice and woodsy.
The best.
When all other Atlanta North courses were under water and beaten up by Winter, Barnsley Gardens was very playable. Unlike other courses with Bermuda rough and fairways BG's were still lush. The greens were fast and rolled true. The after round Hamburger and Meat loaf sub with Wheat beer on draft made the whole day just about perfect.
Course in really good shape
Course in real good shape and most green are fast. Only disappointment was tee boxes could be in better shape and there wasn't a bevarage cart the day we played.
the course was in great shape fareways still looked good and soft for this time of year will be trying to play it real soon
just wanted to say it was a great exprence to have played at the graden and to the team it looked good and played well had a great time and THANKS to golfnow for making it affordable and my hats off to you guy may God bless you all happy thanksgiving to you all an your family. Leroy
Stellar Must Play in GA
The “General” gets strong write ups in Golf Digest and other magazines and deserves it!
It’s a resort course so call ahead to ensure the pace of play for that day.
The challenge is its in the middle of no where but that’s also the beauty of it. When you’re out about #4 on you feel like you’re out there – very peaceful and serene course to play. Nice natural rolling course w/some angulations.
Greens are top-notch.
Staff is great, again it’s a resort course. Stick around for a sandwich and a beverage at the pub – really nice.
This should be on everyone’s play list if you live near Atlanta or North Georgia. It’s also a nice stay & play option w/the family or for business – lots to do on property.
This course will spoil you
Went to course as a single, and my playing partner was running late so I played alone. Three groups let me "play through" and I finished my round in just under 3 hours. Very friendly atmosphere. The greens are FLAWLESS and quick. Best greens I have played in this area. Had a few 3 putts. The track is very scenic and nice. Three of the par 3 holes had high elevations, so I was guess in a little about club selection. Will look forward to playing there again.
The best all around golf experience I've had in Georgia.
I can't say one bad thing about Barnsley Gardens other than without golfnow it would be to pricey for me. Fabulous Fazio layout in which the hole you are playing is the only thing you can see. The new Crenshaw bermuda greens were perfect, both fast and firm. I rank this course up alongside Bethpage, Ridgewood, Plainfield and Pinehurst. It is in far superior condition to any course I've played at Myrtle Beach. Breathtaking par 3's. You owe it to yourself to play this course at least once.
Top 5 courses in the greater Atlanta area!
The new champions bermuda greens are perfect. The scenery is 2nd to none. Great practice areas. The overall character of the course is outstanding. Very easy drive to get there.
Great course
The course as of Oct.19th was in great condition. I just wished my game that day was in great condition. In my opinion the greens were fast and hard to read the break. Fairways were in great condition as well.
The leaves are starting to fall so it was hard to find your ball
even if you were in the middle of the fairway. Windy the day I played. I would play it again, only if I booked it on Golfnow.com as it is not cheap. I play about twice a month.
A challenge!!
This course is a must play, but bring your "A" game.
Generous off the tee, challenging appoaches and tricky greens.
Some of the best par 3's in Nth Georgia.
Beautiful and challenging course
Staff not the best. Only one person asked me if they could help.
Long and difficult course.
Play was slow in spite of the fact there were not that many there. Ranger could have done a better job of supervision.
Over priced.
Gave it a four because is is gorgeous, nice greens, and difficult layout.
This course in very well maintained
Course is fun to play and nice layout. They just put in new greens and they sould be great next year.
This is a players course that provides a great challenge for all golfers. Course condition and features are great.
I played this course last week. It is a great course. Most of the holes have spectacular views and challenging fairways. The par three's are a real treat to play from elevated tees. Keep it on the short grass - The rough is a little high and it can be difficult to advance the ball from the rough. The staff is extraordinarily friendly. I highly recommend playing at this course. It was well worth the 1 hour plus drive from Atlanta.
One of the top courses in Georgia.
Barnsley Gardens is a beautiful course located in NW Georgia.
The greens were just redone with Championship Bermuda and are pretty much flawless. The course is not overplayed and is in excellent condition. Difficult par 3's. Beautiful, scenic views. Definitely worth the money.
