Good course, tee boxes need work
Great course if you’re in north Fulton county. Tee boxes need work and some bunkering needs to be turned. Also some run off areas are in rough shape.
Overall ok round.
Pace of play for Sunday morning was fantastic. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours as a threesome. Greens were nice and green with rest of course being brown coming out of winter. While greens looks good they were very slow. First time playing here and will give it another shot once conditions improve with warmer weather.
Great Track and Lots of Challenges
Always fun when I can get out with my family and this course was a great choice on a very cold -30 degrees Sunday morning. 45 minute frost delay and we were off around 9:30-lots of challenging holes, but the course is playable for a higher handicapper. If you are a tips kind of guy, i'm sure there are longer more challenging layouts, but how many people are really a true "tips" player.
Definitely will come back-carts are electric and location is great for anyone on the north side of Atlanta close to 400.
Good Round
Course was Cart Path Only due to the rain at the beginning on the week. Had an early hot deal which was very good rate! When we arrived we had to wait for someone to open the clubhouse, starter was there and very quick and polite. It was just a short wait and still got out on time. This course is great to play early since you won’t have to wait, played under 3.5 hours with it cart path only. Good track with some fun greens to putt on if you are not below the hole. Will be back!
Nice course
Course hasn’t begun to green up yet but it was still in good condition. I liked the fact that they had an active marshal checking the pace of play. Staff was very friendly too.
good course
clean, standard, wide fairway, good view. enjoyable.
Fun time at Trophy Atlanta
The course was is ok conditions. However, it is the time of the year where is hard to keep the course in mint conditions. Lots of leafs on the greens. Other than that, it was fun playing today!
Great layout, some things need more attention to make it a great experience
We’ve played The Trophy Club before, but it has been quite some time.
- The layout is interesting and fun - no issues with that
- The greens are decent, but I can only assume the course gets a lot of play since there are quite a few dead pitch marks. Lots of bumpy putts.
- Same goes for the tee boxes, some are just dirt
- Fairways are in good shape
- Staff was ok, no complaints
- Pace of play...5 hours. The Friday after Thanksgiving was simply a busy day. Can’t judge whether or not that’s normal.
- Range balls...see the photo I uploaded. The range balls are an embarrassment. For a course with a $60 green fee I expect far better, and I’ve only seen worse at one other course. They should apologize and include these with the green fee until they can remedy the situation.
Perfect Day
My son was in town and we decided to play the Trophy Club in Milton, GA. Chilly morning but warmed up to 60. 8:00 tee time. Course was in good shape, Nice greens, fairly fast. Pretty layout, more hilly than you might expect which makes determining distances difficult. No pressure from players behind and no waiting on those in front. Moderately wide fairways but lots of trees when you are off line. I only rarely play now--once a year or so--but was able to get around in mid 80s (but I still beat my son. He crushes it but I have more feel around the greens than he does.) We played it from the Men's tees, which is why my score wasn't 100. It would have been a good challenge from the Championship tees/tips. Quiet neighborhood around some of the holes but many have no surrounding houses. I would definitely recommend this course for an enjoyable round of golf.
Slow play Thursday
5 hour round. Ambassadors need to do more than sit around. Someone needs to address pave of play.
Terrible Yet Memorable
I have never been to Trophy Club of Atlanta and quite honestly will not come back until the conditions are better. The overall staff experience and the driving range will possibly make me visit again. The pace of pace of play was simply horrible. It took me at least 6 hours to play 18 holes with one person. I was not notified that there was a shotgun tournament going on at the course until I finished 9 holes in at least 3 and a half hours. The golf club ran out of carts which caused them to place foursomes and threesomes ahead of single golfers. the course management was simply terrible. How can you not notify golfers about a tournament going on until they finish 9 holes. I should have been informed before I made the reservation as well as in the pro shop. for the price of the greens fee it is not a bad course, but if you want to play in a good pace of play time forget it, unless you are the only one on the course.
