18th Hole Photo submitted by baller1308 on 08/31/2015
Great rate, only because front 9 was closed
I like to know what I am getting into when purchasing most anything. No mention when booking that I would be forced to play the back nine 2x comprising my ‘round’ of 18 holes. The sand traps were like dried river beds. Had been about 8 years since I last played the course. Operative words, ‘last time I play this course’.
...all you want
ok the bunkers need some work... that said, the layout of this course offers everything you want. Long hitters can go to the tips at your own peril. Blue.. White.. Fwd.. don't fool yourself ;) you still have to golf your ball. "Take in the 8th green" good time for some nature. I hope they can keep up the condition of the greens through 2019... they truly teach you the cost of being out of position on your approach... legit 10.5 /11...
Conditions Improving
Played course in 3:55 today, with 8AM tee time...unheard of for this course on the weekend!!
My last review 6 weeks ago offered criticism of the tee boxes and the course set up contributing to slow play. I will say that it appears work is being done on the tee boxes, several have a lot of sand on them, but grass/sod seems to be growing/taking hold (except on 8), so kudos to management....I think they’re reading these reviews
Fairways are in really good shape, and greens are really really good. Several “new” pin placements that I hadn’t seen before, and were very playable. (I’ve played here roughly 50x over last 5 years)
Hope conditions keep improving....
I was surprised of how good the course looked.
I read many of the reviews after I booked my round and they were mostly negative talking about the tee boxes being all dirt. They said the pace of play wad really slow even if you teed off st 8am.
I am here to say, the tee boxes were not all dirt, my gf, I and two other guys teed off at 8am aand we finished our round in 4 hrs and 10 minutes.
We will be back again.
Great course - friendly staff!
The course manager Matt did not hesitate to make things right when there was an issue with our golfnow tee time being double booked and we were able to get out by our scheduled time. Pace was moderate for a busy weekend day and the greens were PGA tour quality. A few tee boxes looked like they’d seen a lot of play but still in good shape. 2-3 bunkers could use some love but ultimately it was a fantastic track. Extremely manager/staff friendly!
Average
Greens and fairways are in decent to good shape, but bunkers like always are more Georgia clay than sand. Due to tee boxes needing time to recover, majority of the blue tees are either pushed forward to the whites or back to the golds.
Stay Far Away
Greens were in great shape when we played but that’s where the good things end. Tee boxes are like playing out of bunkers or even a hillside lie. Teed off at 3 pm, made the turn at 5 pm only to find 2 groups waiting on the tee box on #10 because they closed down the front 9 for league play. No marshall to direct anyone whatsoever or to give preference to the guys that were making the turn. Kid named Mike in the pro shop was beyond rude and unhelpful and GM Matt couldn’t have cared less. Told us to walk off the course if we wanted but there was nothing he could do to accommodate us. Finished the back 9 in 3.5 hours because they just kept sending people out.
Best Greens In Town
I avoided playing this track on account of negative online reviews. What a mistake that was indeed. The majority of the negativity concerned the tee boxes and they were not in great shape for certain. However, simply find a reasonable place to hit your tee shot from, and enjoy the rest of the course because it is incredible. The fairways airways are lush and in great shape everywhere. The greens are the fastest of any public course I've played in the area ,(@ 20) and are true as it gets. The price point at Trophy is unbeatable I will definitely be back to play as much as possible...
Declining Course
Played this course for the first time several years ago but have noticed the conditions gradually declining. Have played many times since since it's close and a good spot to sharpen skills.
Expect 4.5-5 hours
Some very poor bunkers and tee boxes
Fairways decent
Greens pretty fast with challenging hole placements
Often wait on carts
Will play for the right Golf Now price around 30$. Not worth full price
Course is nice
There are not enough carts for golfer, We end up waiting for more than 20 minutes in hot weather outside for returning carts. I ordered food but the girl working did not entered the order correctly and did not give full order. Charge me the full price from the menu but did not give me my 2nd item included in the price. Finally I asked her and then she gave me.
Nice layout
Course has nice layout. Greens great shape and rolled nice. Worst bunkers i have seen as far as I can tell no effort to take care bunkers. No sand at all
Got to first tee one minute before tee time and ranger started hassling us about pace play. Needless to say round 445 and waited on threesome in front of us for 10 holes
Great staff and course
Friendly staff and great course!!! Only recommendation is to make par threes more challenging.
Great course, friendly employees, and overall amazing stafff!!!
Front the stater, to the cart girl, to the bar tenders, as well as the course our time was friendly and perfect. The par threes could be more challenging but over all the course was great!!!
Great time!
The three guys they had me play with were fun. No one in front or behind us. Great day!
First Time
Excellent conditions! Greens were lighting fast (they were preparing for club Championship). The course was fair. I would play again!
Tee boxes sand trap
Tee boxes need a lot of work. Sand bunkers in need of lot more sand. Marshals need to be a lot more involved in pace of play, round approach 4.5 hrs.
