Sunday morning round
The pro shop was late opening up but the way it was handled by the staff was good. They let those of us with early tee times (before 7 am) out on carts and was able to finish round and go in to pay afterward. The pro shop manager apologized and discounted round, it was classy the way it was handled and for that reason I would recommend the course and will be back.
Beware
I really like Trophy Club and play there several times a year. Be careful right now....its not in great shape. The tee boxes are absolutely horrible and not all the fairways have good coverage at the moment. The greens were aerated recently and are still quite bumpy. If you get a discounted rate, I'd say its worth your time.....but I would not pay full rates until things improve significantly.
Greens and tee boxes where terrible
Most of the tee boxes were dirt or dirt with some patchy grass. The greens were very slow and very grainy. When you hit the ball, you could hear the ball roll on the grass. It looked like old style Bermuda grass that was past its prime. Fairways and rough were ok. There was still some dormant grass, but that should expected with the weather we had in April. Also the range mats were old and need to be replaced but the range balls were good.
Need tee boxes
Course in good condition except the tee boxes. Greens were ok but had an airation about two weeks ago. Made them slow. The greens had nice collars.
Tee boxes need lots of work
Overall, the course was in good shape, but I bumped it down to average because the tee boxes were that bad. About half of them were just straight dirt / sand and the other half had small patches of grass in a corner. The greens were in great shape and the fairways were solid. Trophy club isn't a cheap course (almost $80 after range balls and taxes) so I was disappointed that the tee boxes were in such bad shape, but other than that the course was nice. I'll play here again.
Trophy club
Great greens. Played after a rain storm so the course was still very wet. I will returem
Great greens
The greens were in excellent shape, probably the best they'll be all year. Paid $35, exactly what it should cost. Heard it's much more in the summer time, wouldn't be worth it though.
Poor Condition
Course was in terrible condition and really should not be open for play in its present condition.
one of my favorite courses in the Atlanta area.
Staff always welcoming and courteous. Course wet, but playable. Will be great with a few days of sunshine. Always a very nice experience.
Good course will play again
I really enjoyed myself, although the course is narrow, your misses are still playable. The tee boxes could be rolled and reseeded hopefully that will be something done soon. But overall I enjoyed myself and will be back soon.
Great course
Amazing and comfortable course with friendly staff.
Sloppy day at the Office
When we arrived at Course, it had just come a DOWNPOUR OF RAIN. There was no rain where we were when we booked the course, but as we got in the area, we saw wet streets. The fairway had water everywhere, and we got more rain on us, stop play for about 45 minutes, and return to fine worst conditions. The course was not closed so EITHER PLAY OR LOSE YOUR MONEY, so we try to play. I hope I never do this again, hard to hit the ball in water ( hard to move when water is everywhere to escape it). JUST A VERY BAD DAY.
Course is good but overpriced.
Greens are in excellent condition but there are similar or better courses around for reasonable green fee. There is lots of shade so when the temperature is around 45 F, it feels really cold and fingers num.
Trophy Club Of Atlanta
Weather was fair to down right cold. Tee boxes were almost worn out on some holes. Greens were decent, just seemed slow. No over seeding present anywhere on the course. It was a fair to middling round of golf. OK if you can get it at the right price.
Great Course
I like the Course set up. Wish It was a little cheaper. Grass can be but a little more. Can't find the ball even if you hit a little bit off fairways. I like to not lose my ball if its hit in play! Please Grass don't eat it up!
great course
Course was still wet from recent raim and played somewhat longer. Greens were fast and true.
Bad day of golf
They need to blow off the course more often. They need to trim down the rough a little bit more your ball just disappears
Great Layout but showing its age
This course has the potential to be a favorite of mine, especially since I live 10 minutes from the course. Great layout that commands skill with all clubs, not just the driver. Unfortunately this course is in need of a capital infusion to upgrade the facilities, including the driving range, clubhouse and most certainly the cart paths. The green fees are not commensurate with what you get on the course.
Don't bother
Staff is extremely rude, especially to non-members. We played this course for a tournament. When we signed up, a week prior, there was no one in our division, which struck me as odd, because there are usually 10-20. Two others who had never played the course signed up last minute. I now know why the numbers were so low. The club "ambassador" ranted to our group of walking JUNIOR golfers mid-hole in the 9th fairway because we were "playing too slow" - we had teed off 2 hours and 10 minutes prior. This wasn't a polite "pick up the pace" interaction. It was an extremely rude and demeaning confrontation. Our round was complete in 4 hours, 45 minutes. The course is iffy at best, and includes an actual OUTHOUSE (not a port-a-potty - far worse because this is never cleaned or pumped) where the door is so warped it won't come close to closing. Cart path sections are horribly shifted to extremely unlevel positions and cracked, which explains the condition of the carts. Lots of unrepaired ball marks on the greens which were slow. There isn't much differentiation between the fairways and the rough. The quality of the course is that of a marginal public course, and when you factor in the staff and amenities, it's not worth the time and effort to play here. We certainly won't be back.
Good, short course
Course was in great shape. We were warned to stay out of the rough and in hindsight, I wish I had heeded that advice more. All in all, this is a short course. Several par 4 greens are driveable. Loved the elevation change.
