Lane Creek Golf Club

For the money you can't go wrong. My brother and I played and the course is in great shape, we will be going back soon.

Good location and a decent value. Didn't know that there was a tourney on the Friday we played, so it did cause a back up. Took just over 5 hours and the range was closed. Other than that, a nice time.

PLAYED PRIVATE BROOKFIELD CC THURSDAY BEFORE LANE CREEK, AND LANE CREEK WAS IN AS GOOD OF CONDITION AS WAS BROOKFIELD. PLUS WAS MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE.

Great course layout and great value. I drove an hour to play because its located in Bishop Ga so you will need the day to get there and play but worth it. The only complaint is they are slow updating their tee times so they had our time double booked and were letting walk ups on so the number one tee box had 6 groups waiting to tee off on a weekday.

Best value in the Athens area - worth checking out.

First time playing course, missed turn on drive over so I was late for my tee time. I call course and told them I was going to be late. Got good directions to get to course form culb house staff. when I got there I was able to get with three members and play golf. The members where very helpful and great guys to play golf with. Thanks to the course and members I played with. Enjoyed the round of golf wish I had played better. Thanks Gooch

I always love playing Lane Creek (since the renovations several years ago, that is) and despite my familiarity with the course I always find the layout challenging (occasionally daunting) and tremendously enjoyable.

The greens Lane Creek are challenging. Could add a couple of strokes to your score. The course overall was in great shape. Love to play this course. If it were closer to my home I would definitely become a member.

I have played Lane Creek half a dozen times and the course is always in perfect shape. The greens are pristine and fast, which I like. The fairways are always grass covered, and bunkers always have plenty of sand. The course is short, but with plenty of challenging holes to keep the interest. I recommend it highly!

We had a great time playing, but we felt like the staff was rushing us through the course. Other than that one gentleman's obnoxious persistence, we enjoyed our time at Lane Creek.

The greens on this are VERY fast. Don't expect nice lush green bent grass---but rather, very smooth, true rolling hybrid Bermuda (I think!) It looks a bit dry, but this is how they are normally. Nice lay out with some really tricky short holes.

The course was in very good shape, the greens were fast but true. The price to play was reasonable.

The tee time we booked was taken when we got to the course so we were squeezed between two tee times taken by "members". To look at the schedule on GolfNow the course appeared to be very open which wasn't the case when we arrived. Had to wait for players off of the 18th hole for carts. On the back nine there were several distractions; a girl walking two dogs and a third going after them while we were on a green; a jogger running the cart paths while we were driving and a golf cart with 3 children driving the path when we were on the 18th hole.

It is a very nice course well manicured, the staff there are very friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

Course was beautiful BUT hard to enjoy a round when they have multiple groups of 5 playing in front of a pair & then 2 jump in front of you @ the turn! Ruined my first experience and my DAY OFF!

The redesign of the course makes it play fairer while not getting any easier. The course requires a variety of tee shots. No. 7 is still a par 5 in disguise.

We played on a Monday and the course was quite crowded. There were a lot of families with small children playing. The course is located in an upscale neighborhood and is relatively easy to play. There were a lot of college age kids there also.

The course is in very good condition. The greens role great.Fairways are in very good shape. From the tips plays about 6700 yds. The course is challenging and fun to play.

Nice layout, challenging par 3s, the course was very well maintained. Greens were in excellent condition.

Normally this is a pretty nice course to play. Not real difficult, but not real easy either. However, on this day it was, at least for me, a big waste of time. It had rained hard the day before, and as a result, the whole course was pretty much under water. It was a cart path only, splatter mud all over yourself, spray bad shots, and do a lot of walking, kind of a day.

In all fairness though, I have played here in drier conditions when it wasn't cart path only and have had a much more enjoyable day. It does offer a nice challenge to your game without bringing you to your knees...too much. There are some tight fairways to drive and you have to be careful about where you miss on a few holes. The greens are usually in pretty good shape too. The driving range and putting green are right together and on your way to the first tee box, and range balls are included in your round which is very nice. I would recommend this course to others.

I have played this course for years and it is in as good a shape as I've ever seen it. The greens are the best in the area. Played early with no one in front of us and finished in right at three hours with a short stop at the turn. Highly recommended
