If you play this make sure to pick up a book at the pro shop or you wont know the layout of the holes. It would be nice to have a picture on the score card or at the T-box.

The driving range is superb. I rated good on course conditions because some of the sand traps were shallow and or grainy, but they are improving every time I go. It would be nice to have more than one rake on the very large traps (hole #1)

It is possible to hit a house with a wild shot.DO NOT hit out of someone's yard. Pick it up and take the penalty. I don't think they mind picking up the ball, but property damage and divets in a neighbors yard hurts everyone's reputation.

We picked this course as a warmup round before attending the gallery at the Master's Monday practice round. What a great find! The course has wonderful elevations and a great layout. While not exceptionally long, it was plenty of course off the blue tees for us (our group ranged from 9 to 17 in handicaps). Given the surge pricing for Masters week on all of the courses around Augusta, this was fantastic value for the layout. Conditioning could have been a bit better around the rough but the fairways and greens were very playable. I would recommend trying this track out if you have the chance.

This is one of the courses I play at least 3-4 times per month. The greens are always in good shape, and roll true and fast. Many of the greens are tiered and require precise iron play to be on the right level. I love the variety of shots that this course allows you to be able to play. (Though on most of the shorter par 4's you can drive and pitch instead of laying back if you choose.) Nice doglegs on a few holes and is challenging no matter what tee box you use. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone within an hour drive of Athens, GA. The only downside is sometimes during the week they do not employ a starter and play can get backed up and take a little long. I have made it around this course in anywhere between 2 hours and 5 hours, depending on the days business.(This is the only reason I can't rate it 5 stars.) I would still recommend you come play it and see what its about!! Food wise I always eat the chicken salad sandwich they have but make sure to bring cash for food. As they do not have a credit card reader for food, but have to walk it over to the check in counter, which is a minor inconvenience.

Some of the best greens in this area, rivaled only by the UGA golf course. Always in great shape, summer or winter. Friendly staff, always very helpful. Really, it's the best golf value in the area. Highly recommended.

Play from the tips, otherwise you will think course is short. Greens are top notch in the area. Also constantly allows unpatrolled 5 somes out there which sucks to get stuck behind.

Great layout fun of all levels of skilled golfers. Nice mix of short and long holes without a lot of water and few green side buckers that come in to play. Just a really fun course to play I have been playing here for years and will continue to.

Lane Creek has a nice local country club feel to it. Everyone from the check-in guy in the pro shop to the lady at the bar were very friendly and welcoming.

The course itself is in decent shape and the greens are rolling extremely fast but I did notice some inconsistencies from green-to-green. However, it didn't take away from our group enjoying our round. There is a good bit of landing area on most of the par-4 and 5's which helps with not losing balls and pace of play. We hardly waited on anyone all day which is a big thumbs up in my book. Don't let the yardage fool you either, the back tees (6600 yds) played like 7k all day, especially on the 200+yd par-3's. Overall, I liked the course and will be back if I am in the area again.

Lane Creek is a nice course thatis well maintained.

Greens in great shape, great way to spend an afternoon. Course could use some water.

Being a local favorite, this course can be very crowded or nearly empty...you never know. However, it's usually pretty empty around mid-afternoon. Well placed sand traps and hazards along with sloped greens make up for short yardage. Greens are pretty fast but very consistent throughout the 18, not many blind shots where you can't see where the ball lands.

Course is in great condition and greens will allow for long putts to fall. If you can get a Hot Deal it's worth the wait time.

The course was in great shape. I can't wait to play it again.

Good golf course, but built with not much by a whole lot of houses so if you a tee shot 5 yards left or right of the cart path you are OB.

The greens had been hole punched. This was never mentioned on golf now or at the course. I had no idea until I got to the practice green and the first hole.
