About
Originally opened in 1992, Lane Creek Golf Club changed ownership in 2006 when it also underwent a major renovation that included redesigning all of the greens and bunkers. The drainage and irrigation systems were improved as well. The lightning fast greens will test even the best golfers and they are always excellently maintained, as are the immaculately manicured fairways. In addition to reshaping the old bunkers, new ones were added to make the golf course more challenging. There are a variety of elevation changes throughout ranging from subtle to dramatic, which adds another level of difficulty to the layout. It is a tough but fair course. Lane Creek Golf Club is a favorite among locals and it is considered one of the best public golf courses in the Athens area.

Course is in Great Condiion
It has been a few months since I last played Lane Creek, and I was impressed with the current course conditions; especially the greens. I played early in the morning and the pace of play was brisk. The pro shop staff was welcoming and helpful. My only complaint is that I arrived early for my tee time planning on grabbing a quick breakfast, and the snack bar wasn't open. Furthermore, when it is open the offerings are limited.
Well Worth the Drive!!
GPS took me through the scenic route of pretty Georgia countryside, about a 45 min drive. The entrance was clearly marked and the clean roadway and brickwork in excellent shape. Clubhouse was huge and welcoming. People greeted me and the staff in the Pro Shop were warm. Perfect day, although going from warm to hot wan't noticed too much because of the nice breeze. Course layout was great, no dead, bald spots on fairways, nicely cut, lead to immaculate greens. When I'm staying with our friends near Madison, I will be back to play another round. Many thanks!
Course was very swampy due to a great deal of rain the previous 3 weeks, so 90-degree cart rule in effect. But still not unmanageable, very nice!
A great value on this course through GN app, and I really enjoyed the course at Lane Creek! Greens in great shape. Very nice practice range & putting green. Other than the 90-degree cart rule and getting behind a slow group who finally let me play though as a single after 4-5 holes of trailing them, it was a great day. A very challenging yet enjoyable course layout. I will be back to play there again ASAP.
Well designed golf course
I liked the golf course but some old men played golf with drinking alcohol.
The course was in excellent shape ! It is one of the best golf courses that I have played on !
the course was in great shape
the cart paths need some work and some guys in front of us i think were hitting more than one ball each i understand have one mullgun per 9 but these young guys were really slow. there should be someone with a cart with drinks and snacks i think i only saw 2 water holes. but it was a great day in all.
Great course for the value playing

Excellent for the money
The course was in excellent condition, the greens were in great shape and the staff was very friendly and kind made me feel welcome, being a person of color I've not experience that at all the courses I've played in Georgia, I enjoy going out to Lane Creek to play golf.
Memorial Day Morning
A great round tee'd off at 7:00am Memorial Day morning. We finished 18 in three hours with groups all around us playing with purpose. Always a great course for the rates you can find online.

Nice condition and layout. But sometimes tee time is overbooked.
Great time!
Caught a Hot Deal and decided to sneak in an afternoon round. Course relatively busy, so pace of play slower than I like, but still finished in good time. The course was in excellent shape and a fun challenge. I love the fast, undulating greens and the fairways were in good shape. Shot one of my best scores, so that helps my feelings.
Lane Creek
Course is in beautiful shape. Having a junior golf tourney Monday with practice rounds today, so it was set up a bit more difficult than normal, which was challenging. Amenities, clubhouse staff, all great.
