Always a good course..
Great course but a little soggy. Too much rain, lately, but always enjoyable.
Best semi-private course around
I am a member at a private club that closes on Mondays so I played woodmont. This is the best semi private course in the state and is well worth the money spent on a tee time
Pro Shop
It’s really hit or miss on who is welcoming or not.
Slow Play
Unable to finish our round due to very slow play
Only ably to play 12 holes in 4 hours
Quality experience all the way around!
I’ve never had a bad experience here! Course layout is interesting in a good way and challenging.
Always Good
Good course. Good layout. Great shape greens were quick but fair.
Terrible Player Management
Checked in for my 1:54 tee time and was told they are out of carts, but would have some shortly. Finally get a cart about 7 minutes before our time and head to the tee only to find a foursome and a fivesome still waiting to tee off. After we wait 10-15 minutes beyond our original time, I’m informed that they have put a single with our threesome, and that I need to abandon the cart I just received and hop on with him. I fully understand combining groups to make a foursome, but at least give the two strangers their own cart, rather than forcing them to ride together. I was not even afforded the option of paying for and taking my own cart. It was at this point I decided to go back and get a refund, while my friends played with some strange, old man. Afterwards, they told me they wish they’d left when I did. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are all in pretty rough conditions from taking on 225+ rounds per day. On top of the bad conditions, it took them right at 5 hours to play. Thank God I belong to a private course and don’t have to deal with this nonsense on a regular basis. Wouldn’t go back to this course if it were free.
Love This Course
This is my preferred course to play. I hope it never goes fully private. The course is always in top-notch condition. The greens are still recovering from being aerated and there are a few struggling patches here and there. And as other people have mentioned, a lot of players don't bother repairing their ball marks on the greens. I always repair 3-4 ball marks on every green. The layout does have some rolling fairway and elevation challenges but they are not outrageous and can be played without undue and unfair penalties for being in the fairway.
Awesome
Finally…a course that I could play every day in the Atlanta area. 4.9 stars. Only deduction comes from greens that its members clearly don’t like to fix ball marks on. Real shame. You could make a mile of putts here if it weren’t for the mini pot bunkers. Fantastic layout, conditions, pace of play, F&B, staff, carts, clubhouse, range…all top notch for the money. Highly recommend. Bring a spare divot tool.
Great as always
Gotten a little pricey but who hasn’t. Got a voucher for free food and a beer. What a great deal that we didn’t expect.
Worth the money …
… Woodmont is a great course for the money. Even more so if you’re able to play during the week or in the evenings. The course is worth every dollar when the round is $49/$59 compared to other local courses charging $80/$90 for very comparable conditions.
Tee boxes that are in good shape, fairways look good and are wide, many approach shots that require a great shot over water or some other obstacle, and the greens were moving nice. As a semi-private course it’s great, but expect the greens to be slightly beat up from players who don’t clean up their ball marks - SMH!
