Fun track...great layout!
First time playing Lake Blackshear and I really liked it. The layout is great with a lots of variety, no two holes were alike. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. The greens were good considering winter conditions and lots of rain. I’ve played on better greens, but I’ve also played a lot worse. Medium speed and putted true. They did a good job of placing holes away from poor conditions that existed on a few of the greens. I’d definitely play there again. FYI - we also really enjoyed staying at the resort for a few days. It’s right on the lake with nice views from the rooms. We also enjoyed live music in the lounge on the Friday and Saturday nights that we were there.

great course,but played in challanging conditions. wind blew up to 25 MPH.
Great course, needs maintenance
Like the title says, it’s a great course but it needs maintenance. The layout is good and the staff was very friendly. However the cart paths could use pathing in several areas, the whole course had lots of leaves covering the fairways and even the greens. The rough was also so high in several areas that it was very easy to lose balls even if hit well.
CONDITIONS
SOMEWHAT WET. .GREENS VERY SLOW.. VERY LONG COURSE. BOTH WIFE AND I ENJOYED THE COURSE.
PACE OF PLAY WAS GREAT.
Nice hospitality. Overall course was good. Greens were a little sketchy in places. I’ve seen this place better and I’ve seen it worse.
Lake Blackshear Veterans Course
This course was well worth the 2.5 hour drive! A "Parkland" course with a scenic layout full of variety in the course layout to make the course very interesting and enjoyable to play. The 13th & 15th holes were awesome. The course was in idea condition with very nice fairways and Bermuda greens that demand attention to the grain. We look forward to returning. Insect repellent for the Gnats is important!

Enjoyed the round. The course was in good shape and the layout was challenging yet fair.
Long Day at the Veterans
They need a course ranger. Got stuck behind a foursome who was stuck behind a group of six playing together.
Great layout and conditioning.
Always fun to play. With only a couple of small exceptions, fairways and greens were excellent. They do need new carts, but GA says no money available. It’s still our group’s favorite. WARNING, beware of 13. It’s a mean mammer jammer. It looks docile, but it’s fairly long and very narrow with a ditch in the usual landing zone and a green shaped like a backwards 7 with a gaping grass bunker guarding the back pin placement. Did I say it was mean? My group starts worrying about it at the first tee, but we will be returning often to challenge it and the rest of the lovely course.
Great Shape
Greens and fairways in great shape. Pace of play was good, when we caught up with a larger group they let us play though.
Great course
This is a fun course. There are no surprises. Greens small but excellent. Fairways were perfect. Felt like a big money course.
