West Pines Golf Club

Cut my teeth on golf at West Pines over 20 years ago way before the city took it over.

Needless to say, it wasn't that well maintained back then but the city did a good job right off the bat. Moved to McDonough about 7 years ago and haven't played it since until today.

All I can say is WOW!!! The course was in EXCELLENT condition even after all the rain we've had and their new Bermuda greens were excellent. A little on the slow side but excellent.

If you get a chance, do yourself a favor and play this course. What a gem the city of Douglasville has turned this course into Douglasville should be incredibly proud of what they have turned this into for their citizens. If I still lived in the area I' would have been a member before I left today.

The course was in the best condition ever. Fairways, tees, greens were all good. Traps were wet and sand packed down. Great value for seniors $28. Layout is hilly with some blind shots. Greens were sandy and a little slow.

Not much to fault with West Pines. Hot Tee Time around 9:45 for $25. Good pace of play and the course as always is in great condition. On our regular rotation and will remain so. Highly recommended.

the greens were very good(Bermuda), a few bare spots(red clay) in the common areas. very hilly, sloped course. a few(about 3) forced lay ups( less than driver). cart service was good with a great chicken salad sandwich. all one could ask for in a day at the course.

West Pines is a nice course to play. Easy to get on. Priced right. Greens are ok. Pace sometimes gets slow but you know, it is part of the deal.

West Pines is an excellent course for the price and course conditions. The greens are outstanding. You much play this course, you will come back to play.

The course is waking up from winter, fairways have a lot of roll and greens are fast, the upgrade to the greens was money well spent. I look forward to playing the coourse frequently I live in the city and pleased to have this gem close to home.

My only complaint was that the tee boxes could have been in better shape. Greens were fantastic!!! Some quirky holes so ride ahead to get carry and layup yardages.

A Must Play for the money!!!

First time playing this course but got paired with a guy who knew the course. I love the layout. It has very unique holes requiring thought with club selection, where to lay up, where to miss, etc. The greens rolled true and were surprisingly quick for Bermuda. The bunkering was a challenge to me as it seemed they were placed exactly where my ball would land. I can’t wait to return to West Pines for another round. The 10-12 fire ants that bit my hand on the third hole did nothing to diminish what a fun round of golf it was to play here. Can’t wait to go back!

Really poor pace of play.. staff didn’t want to manage the course pace of play. Expect 5 hours or more for a round. Not going back here again.

I enjoyed the course layout but with the Cart Path only rule in effect and a 42 degree / 20 mph wind blowing, it was a difficult day for a 15 handicapper!! The greens in general were small but in nice shape - mostly elevated. The course was pretty "hilly" for a Floridian - so the cart path only wore me out! I would love to go back and give it a shot at 80 degrees and sunny "in season"...The folks were friendly and accommodating at West Pines and if I'm back in Atlanta, I will come back to this challenging course.

Greens are in good shape and fast. Nice layout, not sure if I would try to walk this course. Lots of hills

Great value for the money. GPS takes you to the wrong place, pace of play was slow, and several blind tee shots found creeks that you’d never know were there without course knowledge. Other than that, greens rolled very well, beer prices were great, and overall solid experience. I will be back.

Still winter conditions and wet from this great weather we have been having, but still decent condition. Greens very good. 20+ mph winds and cold, but who doesn’t enjoy that.

We enjoyed our round at West Pines GC. Previous reviews praising the greens were spot-on as they ran fast and smooth. We also had a great GolfNow "hot deals" price. The course was damp but not as wet as we anticipated with all the rain we've been having.so the overall drainage was good. We will continue to play here and recommend others to do so as well. Look forward to playing the course in "non-dormant" conditions!
