West Pines Golf Club

West Pines has been around for awhile. The track is a decent one to go loop around. The pace of play was a lot better this time around than when I played it the last time. Greens were phenomenal but the fairways good use some work. In all fairness we are coming out of a season and had a lot of rain recently. Overall a decent value for what I paid to play there. Wish I would've seen the cart girl once more but it was a late afternoon round and she was bagging it in for the evening. I believe the pro shop closes at 6?

Once again I was a little surprised at pace of play, greens being in great shape. Overall I would give this days experience a thumbs up.

I've played many different courses. For the money and the quality, West Pines is overall the best! Weekends on every public course is usually a little slow but you cannot expect to come out on a Saturday and play a 3 hour round!

Weekdays are the best for fast play! You may want to try that!

Expected slow play at first tee seeing three different groups of 2 all on the first hole. Starter was pleasant and offered the necessary tee placement and good lucks. Came by later and asked how it was going halfway through the round. Cart girl was pleasant and made 2 rounds. The round was 3 hours and 45 minutes. Perfect pace. No waiting and no pushing. All greens in good shape and fairways too.

Played this course several times. Usually in very good condition. Today (1/28/17) was about average for winter time in Atlanta. Sunny and cold. Tees, fairways, and greens were excellent. Sand traps were pitful. No maintenence for weeks it appreared. i know it's winter and more bad weather is coming, but it is LEGAL in most states to rake the traps! If not intending to maintain traps, then institute a local rule allowing for balls to be removed from the cement-like conditions and play on. Otherwise, course in great shape.

Course was in great shape and the greens are nice!

Arrived an hour early but staff was kind enough to let me start my round. Apart from the first tee which had a foursome and two twosome ahead of me, pace of play was not too slow. With no one behind me, I had a chance to practice my short game on the first hole which prevented me from waiting on holes 2 and 3. Pace of play was not too bad. Finished my round in 4 hours. The greens were awesome for this time of year. Course is very well maintained.

Course is fine but the pace of play was awful. Twosome playing ahead of us seemed to be a lesson in progress and the round took almost 5 hours....don't really have time for that. Instead of marshall warning one in our group of where he parked his cart he should have cut the golf lesson short for the backup that it was causing on the entire course.

Greens are in GREAT shape right now and FAST!!! Only downside is that they need to do a better job at managing slow play...Didn't see a marshal the entire round.. Besides that, no complaints...

This really is a nice course and an excellent value. As with most courses this time of year and with the lack of rain the fairways are hard and a bit brown but very playable. The greens are actually pretty darn good and run pretty fast and true not shaggy at all. They are doing a nice job considering the weather making this a fun course to play. The staff as always are excellent and very friendly! I definitely recommend you give it a go... great value.

Starter was terrible. He accused us of being late which was a lie..Then allowed a foursome to go on ahead of us. Very rude and unprofessional! Ranger was ridiculously rude.

Disgraceful.

Great staff...very helpful. The course is maintained great and the practice areas are well above average. The areas around the hazards could be cleaned up a bit...but then again, don't hit it there. I enjoy playing every time.

My favorite course in the area. Greens were a little dinged up because people aren't repairing their ball marks but I always have fun playing this course.

Everything was in good condition. Great speed of play finished in 3.5 hours with a guy who hasn't played in 2 years. Greens were nice even sanded however it was frustrating that people don't Fix ballmarks. Greens would be nice if folks respected them a little bit.

My son & I made our 1st trip to Atlanta to take in a Braves game as well as a Falcons game.

The starter was really rude. One in our group threw his receipt away and he questioned us about it and said he would go check with the office and see and come find us and make him pay $100 if he didn't pay (how else would we have gotten the key and cart without paying) so we didn't really worry about that but it was overcast so we brought pull overs in case it rained and he was leaning in our carts smoking his cigar looking through what we had in the basket behind the seat because "people will bring outside drinks and we don't allow it and they normally hide it under towels and jackets". We have been there about 4 or 5 times now and are aware of that and all he had to do was ask us and we would have told him. Also didn't see him do that to the group in front of or behind us. Made us feel interrogated. Also, someone needs to hold the people who play there accountable and make people replace their ball marks on the greens because EVERY green was hacked up with ball marks that were not fixed or replaced. Normally I am fine with paying around $30 for golf but not for the service i received and the shape the greens were in.

Sunday afternoon. 3.5 hours for a three ball, fantastic weather, great condition. What more can you ask for.
