About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Horrible Greens
I feel bad for this golf course. They are super friendly and have a neat layout, they lost their greens. There are large brown patches all over every green. Additionally, we had 3 groups on the tee at #12. Played the front in just under 2 hours, but the back was painfully long. I won’t return. There are better courses in the area.
To be fair, tee boxes and traps are in good shape.

Course is in fair condition, greens are ok but could be much better. Sand bunker are as bad as I have ever seen, one was nothing but red clay. Great cart girl, came by often. Played with three great gentlemen, will give them another try soon. Give them a try.

If people would just simply fix their ball marks and one other this course would be in great shape, great track
Well kept course
You can tell that the staff works really hard to keep everything in great shape. Really nice course with a very challenging layout.
Disappointed
This was once my go to course. The fairways are the worst I've played on this year, and I play twice a week. Greens look just as bad. Maintenance guys started watering a green we were playing on, couldn’t wait until we were through?
Maybe this course will be better in the fall.
Great Course
Played Fathers Day weekend. The fairways and greens are in perfect shape and the pace of play was GREAT! Our tee time was at 12:10 and we finished our round in 3hrs 48min. Because temps were in the mid-90’s, many people must have teed off early in the morning. I would definitely recommend adding this course to your playing rotation
Nice course
I agree with some of the comments about hardpan areas in the fairways but they are manageable. A lot of water so the name is appropriate. I enjoyed the course but the pace of play was unbearable for a Thursday. However everyone was friendly.
