Chicopee Woods Golf Course - Village Nine
About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Rangers do Nothing
If the rangers actually did anything to speed up play, the experience would be 5 stars. I have players here over 100 times in the last 10 years, I have never experienced any sort of effort from the rangers to speed up play. I am not sure why they are even out there.
Chicoppee Always delivers!
Had another great day at Chicoppee. The course is in great shape and everyone is always nice!
Great Course
Overall the course is great! Due to rain over the past week, they had to close the driving range and held to cart path only. Fairways and greens were in great condition. Pace of play was rather slow, mostly due to the skill level of golfers in front of our group.
Great Round. Weird Policy
Had a great round once again with a tee time at 8:28. When we got started we were told that we couldn’t start the back nine (The School) until 10:30 so if we finished the front nine on time, then we would have to wait. Well, because our group was playing 13 minutes above pace, we finished at 10:18 on the front nine. So we checked back in at starter house and they told us to wait, because one more group had a tee time at 10:26 on the School. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but if we were allowed to go straight to the tee box, we would have been out of the way of the group starting at 10:26. Instead, we got backed up waiting. With a group then waiting behind us. We finished the round 5 minutes above pace, but it was just a little frustrating to play the front nine wide open, and then having to play back nine stacked up, due to scheduling. That’s the down side of having three 9 hole courses that are combined to make 18. Overall, not a big deal but something to be mindful of.
Never LETS DOWN
Chicopee is everything a public course should be. Well maintained, some pace of play issues here and there but not crazy. Some private courses would love to be this good
Excellent course conditions
It’s always a pleasure visiting this course. Great practice areas, the staff are always pleasant and accommodating and the course is in wonderful condition. Highly recommended.
Great course
I've played Chicopee 3-4 times. I wish it was closer to my house so I could get there after work. Love the layout and the 3 par nine courses. I will be back soon.
Solid Course
Love this course! Always in good shape, cat paths are perfect and greens and bunkers in fantastic shape!
