Creekside
A good course that is maintained fairly well. Good value if you get a deal price. The 18th with the island green is a great finishing hole.
Looking for a challenge
I've played this course about 15 times. I've been golfing about 4 years now and have played around 20 different courses. Creekside is one that is most fun to play because of the layout. They recently cut back some trees and bush to open the course up some. But it's still a good tuff course. You got to hit em straight. If the golfer would not tear down signs and fix ball mark on green and the staff put a little more TLC on the course. It could be a excellent place to play. Still it a good deal for around $40.
Much Improved
This course underwent major improvements over the past year. It is much better than it was then... true greens, good fairways and somewhat tough rough. The staff is very friendly and very attentive to their customers and to the course.
Fun course to play
First time seeing this course, staff were very nice and accomidating. The layout is very challenging I am not super long off the tee but was still able to compete with the young guns I was paired with. Greens were very nice and very receptive. I would recommend this course to anyone at any level, I will be back.
This course has really great features.
I loved the 14th and 18th hole. The entire course was really well maintained.
Good value
This golf course would be difficult for the beginner or casual golfer. The area outside of the tree line is "never-never land" in that you will never find your ball. Consequently the course plays very tight. There are several holes that local knowledge comes into play since there are some blind tee and approach shots. The 14th and 17th holes play very (too) long....468 and 435 respectively. On 14 the hazard (lake) fronting the green makes this hole a very challenging par 4. The 17th par 4 hole is uphill and plays much longer than the 435 yards listed on the card (maybe because of wet conditions). The greens were fairly good with very little undulation but could be improved with increase speed and fixing a couple of bare spots which is normal for bent greens in the south. Fairways were good enough to play the ball down. There were a couple tee areas that needed sunlight and air as grass was sparse. The car paths and area around the path were in need of repair throughout the course. The staff was great. The take home... a very challenging round on a fair course. I will play it again.
Challenging course.
I had never played there but read some reviews. The staff was pleasant the other golfers were polite as well. Before playing the pro shop offered a book that shows all the hazards and what each hole looked like. FOR FREE? I was in awe. Most course charge 5 bucks plus. The pro shop also let me know that they have plugged and aerated the greens. Which the greens were in great shape and condition. Over all the course was in excellent condition. Enjoyed playing there and either though I used Golf now. Was greeted like a paying customer and respected. Marshalls were polite as well .
Great place to play golf and if you're ever in the Atlanta area I recommend this course to play.
Getting Better
Tee boxes needed cutting (mowers were visible and slowly remedying that during the round). Fairways good, looks like they were recently aerated. Some fairways had numerous small ant hills scattered about. Front nine greens mostly good (some had a few bare/sanded spots). New back nine greens excellent. Most greens fairly firm, and all rolled well. Traps wet, so hard to judge fairly. Pro shop staff extremely courteous and welcoming (not always the case at other courses when using GN booking). Overall, course in good to excellent shape. Would definitely play again. Mostly a shot-making course from the blue tees, driver not required on all par 4's (or half of the par 5's).
Alot Better Than Before
This was my 3rd time playing at Creekside the first two times the course was dried out the greens were bad and overall in poor condition. I was pretty sure I would not ever paly there again. After speaking with a couple of people who had recently played there and after they made some changes to the course to make conditions better I decided to see if it was any better than the last time I had played there. To my surprise it was in fact a lot better in fact almost an unrecognizable difference in course conditions. They have done a really good job at making Creekside a pleasant experience.
I will be back.
Great spot!
What a great place! It will make you pull your hair out and you will have less balls than when you started ( or get a snakebite ) but it is a really well cared for and pretty course. It's kind of out there but it's worth the drive for the price. It's comparable to some of the courses I've payed almost 100$ for.
For a below average player
I enjoyed the round for a below average player. Time of day was perfect to not slow down anyone and also not have to wait.
Haven't played in a while
The course was in great shape, just short of excellent due to some of the greens needed a little work and some of the fairways need some grass to grow in. The course is playable and not in bad shape. Would play here again, actually hoping to get another round in within the next two weeks. The attendant at the club house was very friendly and the Marshall was readily available and monitoring the course, not that we had any issues.
excellent staff
The course is moderately challenging. Grreat shape. front 9 requires ball placement
skills. the back 9 is long, featuring several difficult par 5's.It would be hard to find a
more friendly, helpful staff. To me it is a real bargain
Challenging
Course is narrow with a number of hard dog legs. Greens were recently punched, but still rolled fairly well. Handful of tee boxes are in rough shape, but overall the course is in good shape. If it's your first time playing, get a course guide/book from the pro shop as many holes require placing your drive rather than griping/ripping. Friendly staff.
Excellent Greens
Greens where in excellent condition. This course has a lot of dog legs and is challanging. I enjoy my self and this course has made it on our list for our Tuesday group
Pricey for Mediocre Course
I have played here all my life, love the course, but the rates are getting ridiculous for the shape the course is in. Don't get me wrong, 90% of the greens are now in immaculate shape, but the fairways and tee boxes are horrible. The back 9 fairways have been taken over by ant beds. The 15th fairway literally looked like a minefield. Hopefully they can get this under control soon. On a positive note, the new staff is great! They are very friendly and also the pace of play has gotten noticeably better. The rates though are just a bit ridiculous. The only way I would choose to spend my money here again anytime soon is if they either lower the rates or take better care of the fairways....
Good value
The greens were in very good shape, a little slow compared to some other local courses, maybe about 8.5 or 9. Fairways okay but had several hard pan type situations in the fairways. The grass was there, but dry conditions kept me from getting that divot bite to put spin on my ball.
Still a good value for the price.
Beautiful challenging hidden gem of a course.
A beautiful golf course that features some tight fairways and excellent greens. This course demands accuracy but is very fair to the strategic player. The greens are in excellent shape and the course overall is a true hidden gem for the price! I love this course and anticipate my next round on it.
