Saved by Golf Now
This was my first time playing this course. As a relatively new golfer, I found this course to be somewhat challenging; however, I had friends that played it before to warn me of difficult areas. I wish the staff had notified us of the problem with the greens that happened as a result of chemical burning. I am happy that I received the $19.00 Golf Now rate or I would have been very disappointed. I will be back!
Slow pay, Terrible greens
The pace was slow for a track this length and you couldn't find a spot on any green where the ball rolled without hoping. Greens need to be redone, burnt out areas, Not taken care of very well
Disappointing
I have played this course twice during the last 18 months and each time the course condition has been poor. Both times several of the greens were all but unplayable.
not sure when you played the last time but by the date of the review we had just aerated. The greens are not the best after aeration but we do offer a discount for the necessary cultural practice. Thanks for playing and come in oct and the greens will be perfect
Well designed
I have played this course many times, and usually enjoy it. The fairways on every hole had clumps of grass left on them where the grass had been cut and just left there. In many cases they were big enough to influence the direction or stop the ball. The greens were bare in a lot of places with deep places from aerating. It was a miserable round, and we should have been told the condition, and offered a refund.
not sure why you were not informed about the aeration? The aeration date was 8/10. We offer a discount for the aeration. Unless it was a golf now hot time you could get a rain check if the conditions were not what you expected.
Thanks for playing and we hope to see you back out.
Needs work
Tee boxes and fairways were very good. Most if not all of the greens were not playable due to some sort of black fungus. Paid 19 bucks thru golf now and thankfully did not pay the $40 weekend rate for such a poor course
Actual layout is pretty good. Fix greens, water ponding and put some sand in bunkers and it could be good.
Thanks for playing and the greens are coming along. 40+ days of 90+ heat really knocked them for a loop! We had just recently aerated as well. We are looking better each day!
Thanks again!
Nice course
Nice course, the greens were being aerated and need some work. The
Thanks for playing and the greens are coming around nicely after aeration. Come try us again and you will see we are making progress.
Thanks
The course has a great layout
Very fun course to play. Greens in bad shape but with a little work the course would be great.
Thanks for playing and the greens are coming along. 40+ days of 90+ heat really knocked them for a loop! We had just aerated and are trying to recover! We are looking better each day!
Thanks again!
Old Faithful
I play this course more than any other in the area. Great value for the money. Greens are in rough shape right now but not surprising given the heat lately. They will be back though, as will I!
Thanks for playing and the greens are coming along. 40+ days of 90+ heat really knocked them for a loop! Thanks for the kind review. We were not in the best shape but we are still a great value.
Thanks again!
Needs a little TLC
Only stating would recommend for deep discount due to current course conditions. Staff is friendly as are other golfers.
Course is somewhat tight as I had remembered. Fairways are OK for the most part. Most bunkers I consider unplayable. Only ended up in one that I can recall. Some of my playing partners landed in a few. A couple of times the ball rolled through the bunker and back to the fairway. A few greens were good. The majority, however, are 40% burned to gone. A couple of greens were not even worth trying to putt.
Good thing I was paired with a group that knew the course. No hole layout on scorecard. Water hazzards hidden (blind shot) on many holes.
Would have been disappointed if I had paid more than half price for the round.
Thanks for playing and the greens are coming along. 40+ days of 90+ heat really knocked them for a loop! After we aerated we are looking better each day!
Thanks again!
Narrow
Extremely narrow fairways. Very few holes you can unleash your driver. Most par 4s requires a iorn shot off the tee. Not a place for someone who needs room off the tee for forgiveness.
Good course
Course in summer condition. Greens in good shape, fairways decent, tees worn out by summer weather.
great greens
Challenging course with great greens. Pay attention to the yardage book.
Excellent play for the money
Creekside is an excellent course for the money and can be very challenging on many different holes. The course was in excellent shape for the beginning of June. Some of the Tee boxes needed a little attention.
Great Shape for the time of year
I thought conditions were going to be sloppy. Greens were in great shape, as well as the fairways. Only a little bit damp from the recent snow. Will be returning
Plays like 2 courses
Course was ok for this time of the year. As always the staff is very friendly. the course needs a marshal to keep pace up however. To many golfers hitting more than one tee shot and then looking for both or at times 3 balls can really slow down pace! A marshal would help cut down with this aspect.
The front 9 play very tight while the back 8 play wide open ( you actually make the turn after the 10th hole. Nice little par 3 hole).
Holes 4, 11, 14, and 16 all have some sort of hidden water on them ( 4- a creek on the dog leg, 11 just past the plato- DO NOT pull a driver out on this one!!,14- a pond protecting the green and 16- a small pond/marsh protecting the green.
All in all a fun course to play
Good Considering Recent WX
It has rained heavy the past two days. Fairways were soggy but grass wasn't matted down. The greens were soft and in good condition. A few of the holes have some difficult elevation changes and some areas of swampy grass to hit over but probably not tough for a long hitter. Overall I think the course is worth playing. The only thing I thought was a little below average was the price/qty of range balls per token
Odd design
Odd course design makes your golf game appear to need a tad bit more work than it actually. Just hit every shot perfectly straight and make sure you can stop your shot on the green and you'll do fine here. Not to amateur friendly
Diamond in the Ruff
I have a degree in Turfgrass Management. The greens were nice, very nice quality Bemtgrass. Improvements could be mowing a little lower as well as rolling every now and then. However, the Bermuda fairways are neglected as well as the Bermuda and Zoysia tee boxes.
Local tournament caused great delays!
The price was right but the playing conditions were not. I bought a tee time for 1148 and was advised when I checked in at 1040 that a tournament had shotgunned on first 12 holes and at some "unknown" time would pass through the first tee.
The counter man did come out to the parking lot once to give an update at 12:15, and made some announcements over the PA system. The PA was absolutely worthless, could not understand because of too much squelch.
I finely got off on number 1 at 12:35. Play was extremely slow with as many as 3 groups at times backed up on the same hole. No evidence of marshals during the whole round. I completed play at 5 minutes after 5 pm.
When using Golf Now, there is no way to know that you will be following a tournament, and that is very poor!
