About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

Greens need some work
Pretty descent course overall, the greens however do need some serious repair. It is way out in the boonies so they should really get the greens in better shape to make it worth the drive from Atlanta...
Excellent Course in Monroe
The Providence Club is one of my favorite courses. The pace of play was great, they have a great snack bar to grab food before, during and after the round. The staff is friendly. The course is narrow on some holes and wide open on other holes. The greens were not in their best condition, I think the Georgia heat is tough on them. Overall, great course, I tend to shoot better on this course. I will always play The Providence Club.

Saturday June 5th
This course is rough and needs some work. Had a tough time finding a place to play on Saturday with a friend in town. Decided to try it. Not worth $55 for Saturday morning. Tee boxes ground is hard as a rock, greens were rough. Fairways were ok. The grass overall needs a lot of water on this course. The cart paths needs some repaying. This is more like a $20 course, very comparable to Collins Hill golf course in Lawrenceville.

Greens were terrible.
Bumpy, holes punched weeks ago. Bermuda greens should be great this time of year.

Great course / front greens need work
My son’s and I had a great time and my oldest nearly broke 80 for the first time. It wasn’t my fault he didn’t after he overshot final green after my recommendation. Only complaint were that front side greens were lost and in the worst shape we have seen for them. Please invest whatever needed to repair.

Greens below average
The greens are in pretty rough shape overall but playable. The rest of the course is in good condition. We played at 4 Saturday afternoon ( threesome) and pace of play was very good for a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Overall a nice round of golf on a beautiful day for a very reasonable price.

The Greens are Dead!!
Played on 5/25/21.
The greens on the entire front 9 were unplayable.
I love the course but I won’t be back until they fix the greens.
Back 9 was better but still bumpy. It’s worth the price for $25 or less. If your in the area and want to play golf I would suggest that you drive to Chimneys. They have grass on their greens.

Needs some attention
Greens are rough with lack of grass...seems like wet, cold weather has brought on an algae problem which is retarding grass growth. Tees are hard...course just doesn’t appear as green as others in the area.

Greens needs work
I definitely enjoyed the round of golf here.. Staffs are friendly, good layout, decent fairways, but the greens need TLC. No grass or nearly all dead greens!!

Greens Were Awful
Used to love playing this course. Greens appeared scalped and sanded. Speed was inconsistent between greens, but most were just slightly slower than pavement. Sanding and recent aeration holes made roles untrue. Everyone in my group was baffled and frustrated.
