Providence Club

This golf course will present you with challenges due to the narrow fairways and many water hazards on the front 9. The rough is just that, ROUGH. The green roll at a comfortable pace, not too fast and not too slow. The pace of play was average. I played with a group of four and it took us 4hrs 20 minutes to complete the round and this included stopping at the snack bar after the first 9 holes. This is a wonderful course with a variety of golf challenges being presented throughout the course. Very well done.

This is a follow-up to my recent Providence Club review. The greens have largely recovered from the recent aeration and the rough has been cut. Playing conditions for this round were generally better than two weeks ago. There was also a starter that kept the first tee organized and moving. I had three notable observations during this round. None of these would make me hesitate in booking another round.

1. The greens had not been mowed that day. (if mowed, it was a poor job)

2. The grounds crew was very active with the mowers and to a degree interfered with play (I reduced staff friendliness by 2 stars because of the mowing crew)

3. Some bunkers needed attention. Overall, the bunkers seemed slightly neglected.

I would like to give Providence Club 4 Stars, but the GC is not quite up to this level.

Mike in the shop was attentive and friendly. Course was in good shape (greens were a little sandy when we played but not too bad). Only area needing improvement would be amenities in the clubhouse. Pro shop had a few shirts and caps for sale but not much. Took a while to find someone to get some beer and snacks from. It was a slow Thursday so I realize they would have limited staffing but they just need to keep a better eye on their post. We were in no rush because there wasn't anyone behind us on the course pushing us but if there was, we would have to have let them play through.

The course plays well; it is a nice tract. A must play.

Well maintained golf course. Two big thumbs up to the green keepers. I will play again in this course.

Providence GC was in moderately good but not great condition for the round. The greens are quite hard and moderately fast. It seems that the greens had been recently verticut and sanded. The cups were left in same place too many days and some were ragged. The rough is a bit high and overly wet in a few small areas. Even that fairway turf was long by my standards. The bunkers were all well maintained. The greens and rough combine to make the course more difficult that it should naturally play. I consider the course, in its current condition to be a fair test, but too difficult for the average golfer. Our foursome waited to play on a few holes. There was no starter or on course staff despite being very busy. Please note that I attempt to give an informative review of the course and its conditioning. Providence GC is recommended despite needing some proper mowing.

I've played this course many times over the years and this is the best shape I've ever seen it in. The greens were a little thin, but fast and rolled true. I will go back again soon. No a real challenging course but enjoyable.

Played here a month ago after the greens had been aerated and sanded. Well, that is over and done with! Greens are in excellent shape heading into fall! Good course setup! Make you hit fades and draws! Not long, but will keep your attention!

In my opinion once al the renovations are completed at the club house Providence will again be the course to play. The staff were over the top and could not do enough for you. The carts were clean and powerful for this hilly course. Even with a limited number of golfers (early Thursday round) the Marshal made several rounds just to assure we were enjoying the course and the day. Serious renovation was taking place on the interior and exterior of the club house but again the staff did everything in their power to accommodate everyone as soon as they entered. We have experienced 41 day of temps over 90 degrees but the greens and fairways were in top notch condition. Course conditions is another area that improve on a consistent basis. I do not live in Providence but I do play there more than any other course in Atlanta foe one reason .The Staff they make even bad rounds just a tad better

Nice round of golf, enjoyable. Greens just now growing back in from aeration but very playable. Played with a member as our fourth and appreciated his tips and guidance ! Definitely a good day!

Course in good to great shape from tee to green, Greens had been punched & sanded recently but were growing in & really not a problem. People were friendly on phone & at desk, Renovations to clubhouse, new deck , etc looking good. Got a good deal on website. Will continue to be a top choice to play for condition, price & location

I live in the metro ATL area, and I get out and play about once a week. I wanted to play at a different course, so I branched out and tried Providence. What I came to find out was that this place was awesome! I totally enjoyed my experience that day. I was paired up with some great guys who were familiar with the course; the course was in great shape; the layout is nice; it was fun but yet, challenging. I plan on going back to my new "favorite" place to play very soon!

I believe this is one of the better courses for the money! You can't beat the layout, condition and price for a course of this quality! I would highly recommend to play this course for a great time!

The fivesom slowed the course for everyone that day.

I've played this course several times and I enjoy it more each time I go back. Layout is challenging but fair. It's obvious that they care about course conditions, greens are the best I've seen them. I will definitely be back!

The fairways were as high as the rough. Also the greens were pretty soggy all around.

For the money this is the best course. Great layout. Love it!
