I LOVE this course
This course is kept up beautifully and the greens are consistent. It is not the easiest course to play and has its challenges overall it is a wonderful experience!
Great value.
Highland Walk has a lot of elevation change and several doglegs. Many fairways are sloped and course knowledge is essential. My friends and I enjoy playing Highland Walk.
State Park
This course is pretty easy, as long as you keep it between the tree lines. Easily reachable par 5's... except for the 600 yard 15th hole. Many drivable par 4's to help make scoring easier. Overall, pretty good course for a beginning golfer, or if you need a boost in confidence as an experienced golfer!!
Fun and challenging
Tee boxes need to be moved around so that they'll be in better shape.
Fun and challenging course.
Great value!
Course in very good shape. Greens were excellent, quick and rolled true (Bermuda). Fairways still dormant, but fully covered. This is a very hilly course, with a never-ending range of challenging shots. Snagged a $14 tee time on GolfNow! You simply can't beat that price for this very solid public tract.
Shot making required
This is great and challenging place to play. Requires you to make some great shots and even then there is no guarantee. It is a great value and you cannot go wrong playing here
I love the layout and scenery
I always enjoy playing this course. It takes me an hour to get there so I do not play it that often. Tee boxes, cart paths, fairways and greens (fast the way I like them) are well maintained. I was not in any of the sandtraps so I can't comment on those. The only criticisms I have were the holes on the greens did not have sharp edges ( need to be changed more often) and at least one hole was too close to the edge of the green ( I believe they should be no closer than 12 feet). These are small problems, very easily corrected. I can't wait for the spring grasses to green up the course.
The course played well and was very challenging, good use of most clubs in my bag
I loved the diversity of the course, from short par 3's and par 4's to the daunting par 5's. The rolling terrain made you think about tee shots and made good use of most of the clubs in my bag. First timers to the course would be well advised to get the course yardage guide for hints and tips of where to place shots from the tee and how the greens are sloped. Loved the course.
A little tough yet great course. A deal for the money.
Bermuda fairways and greens, well maintained year round.
Beautiful and Challeging.
Awesome course to play for the price they charge! Its has breath-taking beauty and is absolutly pro-style. Green speed is at highest level and much control is needed!
Course was beautiful and challenging...
We had a great time. Lots of slope. Bermuda greens seemed difficult to read.
Excellent golf course and a super staff.
We had a great round. Course conditions were fantastic. Beautiful place.
One of my favorite courses in the State.
No houses on the course, just nature and golf. A very challenging course with lots of slopes and rolling terrain. Play this course every chance I get. Out of the way, so seldom a crowd or back up while enjoying your game.
Enjoyable, Be ready for hills
This is a hilly course, but a good one.
Greens are a little slow, probably due to protection from heat.
Bunkers were not maintained hardly at all, but it had rained quite a bit.
Would be great if bunkers were consistent.
Beautiful course.
Well maintained, greens in great shape. Very hilly but a lot of fun to play.
Georgia State Park Golf - way to go.....
Course is in great condition. Be careful; undulating, I don't know if there is a such thing as an even lie. Numerous blind shots. Don't have to be a long hitter but you better be accurate. Great course if you live northeast Georgia and worth the drive from Conyers area. Staff is great!
This is one of my favorites!
Have to keep it in the lanes to score well. Great course for the money. Sweet par threes and reachable par fives. I play this course every time I go to Lake Hartwell now. Weather permitting.
Had a great time on this difficult course even though score did not reflect it.
For someone used to easier flat courses in the Upstate S.C. area this course was a lot different. Course requires accuracy off the tee and even then sometimes you would have a testy lie. If you are not used to sidehill/downhill/uphill lies this os not your course but i would play it again for the beauty of ot the challenge and the price.Greens are fabulous. no dry spots or burnt up grass
Greens need attention, but a very interesting, challenging, and beautiful course.
I drove up from Milledgeville Georgia to play golf at a 2:50 tee time. I showed up at the course exactly an hour early, at 1:50, as I had intended to in order to allow myself and playing partner enough time to warm up and hit some putts. The first thing the pro shop employee told me was that I was too early for my tee time and that policy stated that because I was so early I should be paying for a 1:50 time at the full tilt rate. It seemed to confuse him that people might show up at a golf course before their time to prepare for their round of golf, and I tried to maintain a polite conversation with a man that was trying to make me pay twice as much as I had already paid in full online. I'm not sure what kind of policy he was trying to reference, but I believe he was terribly in the wrong trying to charge me extra money for absolutely no reason, as I had always intended to tee off at my previously purchased time. Other than trouble before the round, I discovered the greens to have been recently aerated, probably within the last 10 days, and the grass on the greens was left entirely too long. Putts rolled remarkably slow and judging breaks while putting on the shag carpet greens was all about luck. Every sand trap on the course was hard packed mud. As far as the layout goes the course is fantastic, with beautiful scenery and a very entertaining layout. It had some really interesting holes that would have been a real blast to play if the greens would have been in proper shape. I recommend this course to anybody in the area because of its value and great layout, but I'd want to know a little more about the condition of the greens before I payed any price to play it again.
