About
Henderson Golf Club is a local favorite since it is the most affordable public course in Savannah. The course wanders across a scenic landscape accented with towering pines, pristine wetlands, colorful magnolia trees, and mature oaks artfully draped with Spanish moss. Playing the golf course is like getting two for one with a front nine that is almost completely open, much like a traditional links course, while the back nine is narrower with trees lining the fairways. The undulating greens are tricky since they are bordered by generous collars that require a delicate touch. The nines have a different character from one another but they are equally challenging. Henderson Golf Club is a manageable length at 6,700 yards from the back tees. It's a layout that favors accuracy, strategy, and creative shot making over distance.

Picture perfect
Played at 2pm great sunny day. Pace of play very enjoyable. Course in good shape tee to green. Friendly staff. Great value for the $$$$$.
Nice Course
I was hesitant to play here based on the bad reviews. Bottom line, Henderson holds its own with other public courses I've played in the Savannah area. Nice fairways, greens that rolled true and a friendly staff. I like the layout of the course. I'm glad I played here. I look forward to coming back for more.
Looks good from the highway but the back holes are rough.
I have played here a few times over 5-6 years. The holes that are visible from the highway are usually in ok shape but the rest of the course is rough. Practice range and putting greens are always excellent. Layout is tough and every time I play here it seems to be in worse shape than the prior round. Greens need work and the fairways throughout the neighborhoods are in pretty bad shape. It could be a challenging and fun course if better maintained.
Good bang for your buck.
This course is great for beginners and intermediate players working on their game. Catch a hot deal for 24 bucks or less and this course is definitely worth it. The greens were decent for the price. Better than expected.
What a waste
Very disappointed! Had more expectations for this course being in Savannah a tourist destination

Henderson is the best course value in Savannah. The hot deals are better than everywhere else. The course is in fantastic shape with the exception of a few sand traps. Golf here once a week. Always satisfied with the customer service and course value.
Pleasantly Surprised
This cours has made a huge turn around in the last year. The fairways and greens were EXCELLENT. I was shocked at how far this course has come. It's a challenging layout that I have always enjoyed.

This course shows a little age but was a great place to get away to by myself for the price I paid.
The great comeback!
Unbelievable what course pro Gordon & crew have with this course in such a short period of time. From recovering the tee boxes, to removing penalizing trees and other non-intended course obstacles to recovering 95% of the greens, they've done it all. It's to the point where they are distinguishing first cut from second cut around the greens, fairways cut in opposite directions making it visually pleasing. Bottom line, Henderson has kept myself and my foursome from leaving town to find good golf for a reason price!!! Give it a try!
Improvements are showing
Booked 18 holes after avoiding the course for several years because it had been rundown.
Greens were pristine and fairways and sand traps show benefit of attention by maintenance staff
Concessions limited to potato chips... etc, soft drinks and automat type sandwiches
The course was reasonably busy ...but not overly crowded
Overall ....if you're on a budget ....it's not bad for the money
Best shape I've seen here
I played this course a year ago it was terrible they have done a lot of work getting it back in shape. Greens are slow but have been punched recently and very decent. Fairways are I. Good shape and the track has some challenging holes with some drivable par 4s from the white tees. I will play it again regularly as the price is still very reasonable.

This course needs work
Fairways and greens were in terrible shape. We've played this course a couple of years ago and it appears that the shape of this course has degraded significantly.
There were many bare spots on the fairways. They were in desperate need of fertilization and care.
The greens were bumpy, slow and not well maintained. These too were in desperate need of fertilization and care.
Fun Time
We had an enjoyable afternoon playing Henderson golf course. The greens were being aerated but were still playable. The fairways were average. The price was excellent ($29) and we will come again.

This course is in the poorest condition of 20 years combined with a less than friendly staff. Strongly recommend their sister location crosswinds for a better experience
