Southbridge Savannah Golf Club

This place sucks and always has. If it wasn't the rude members during a morning scramble where they just jump out in front of your group or the lack of work ethic and customer service of the staff.

There is no distinction between rough and fairway. Greens are either packed mud with fertilizer or bubbles over with crab grass. So putting is not in the cards. I guess the staff after 4 pm just doesn't keep up with carts for players that have 3 hours of daylight left.

Oh let's go back to the rude club members. Standing in line waiting to check in. An older gentleman just hops the line to get three buckets of balls while there is an obvious line formed. So his justification....I'm a member. Jesus of all the courses in Savannah this is by far the worst all around and do not recommend.

I hope the staff reaches out to me so I can say this to them and recommend better training and informing members they all suck. Wish I knew I could upload photos. I would have given each green and fairway to show the lack of care for this course.

Geez where to start: I’ve never seen a $65 course with worse tee-off conditions, greens were comparable to putting on plywood, was almost pointless to hit in the fairway - the rough was in as good shape as the fairways, the cart path was like driving on a Louisiana Parrish road, etc. No starter or Ranger. To be fair this is a $30 course at best with these conditions. Was first time playing here so maybe it’s better in the warmer months? Won’t be back.

The course conditions were radically improved after the owners took over. Now the greens are in terrible shape. With the exception of #16, and maybe a couple more, the putting was impossible. I love the course, but good greens are a must.

I would love to play this course in a month to really determine the quality of the course

Bunkers and greens need work. Course is being restored according to staff.

The course was in a nice neighborhood but the course was awful. The tee boxes were terrible, the greens had so many weeds you couldn’t put your ball without it jumping around on the greens. The cart paths were horrible teeth rattling paths. You can definitely tell the course is not being cared for or managed well. I am not sure I would play this course again even if it was free!

I played this course A couple of years ago and it was in pretty good shape. It is a shame to see the condition of this course now. You would be hard-pressed to find a single blade of grass amongst all of the weeds and dirt that cover what used to be a golf course.

I really enjoy Southbridge but today was disappointing. The practice green and chipping green were in really bad shape. The driving range was using mats which is good in winter season.

The course itself is slipping in quality. Tee boxes look rough and I used a lot of sand fixing many divots on par 3 and 4 tee boxes. I used 4 bottles fixing divots all over the course. Take care of the course and the course will take care of you. Fairways were ok. The greens need a lot of TLC. There is poana starting to grow on every green and the greens were really fast due to dormant grass. I am worried what they will play like if nothing is done to nature them back to health.

I won’t be back until late spring again to see if new growth renews the course. If the team does not make adjustments, Southbridge may slide back to its previous state.
