Course showing great improvement since new management took over

Course shape improving after all the rain in February and early March. Well maintained and decent challenges.

Unfortunately, this course appears to be on a deteriorating trend. We played here a few times a couple of years ago and the course was fine. The greens and fairways now are bad and many of the sand traps are unplayable..

The layout of the course is really nice which makes the condition even more sad. This course needs some serious attention but it could be really nice again.

Since the takeover there is a huge difference in the course. Finally dried out and 90 degree rule in affect, unfortunately the avg. Joe doesn't know or care to know. The pace was slow today since Wyatt told the first groups it was cart path only, but to see the members a few holes back driving in the rough?,,,,People still dont fill divots. WATCHED and waited while two ladies hacked it up. Nice day out but way too slow. Tees and fairways were playable and greens quick due to the cold weather, still poa patches on them. Some bunkers still under water. Nice job on some bridge repair. HOA is doing a good job....in time will be nice.

Course needs some TLC. Layout is interesting and challenging. Condition of fairways and greens need water and fertilizer. Most bunkers are marked unplayable and need complete overhaul. Pace of play was affected by a foursome of non golfers trying to learn the game. Had no concept of allowing faster groups to play through (which would have been everyone!)

Played both days this weekend and it was wet which is fine. Cart path only marked in the clubhouse at the register, stapled to the scorecard, and posted on the 1st and 10th tee box but yet almost everybody is riding all over the fairways rutting it up.

Mentioned it to a member of the staff at the turn but still no enforcement on either days.

Pace of play was also very slow. Seems they need to book tee times further apart or have a start master. Saturday we had a 12:31 tee time and didn’t hit our first ball until 12:53.

This is a very fun course to play and was thinking about a membership but after seeing the way they let people abuse the course I might pass.

First off......the course needs alot of work. Tees, fairways ,greens and traps. They are under new management so i understand the magnitude of work it needs. Not to shame anyone just being honest. I think by summer it will much better. Greens were hard to navigate all the poa patches on them. In my past, tees and greens and fairways mowed would bring more play if the were consistent. Also, mother nature has not coperated. Good luck., love the track. See you back in the summertime.

Course was in pretty good shape. Some greens needed work but overall was good play but weather over the last week and today necessitated cart-path only which never is a good thing.

Glad we went have not played it in awhile new management is working to get the course back in shape

Course was very wet, cart path only, but nobody in the pro shop bothered to mention it. Fairways are dormant, it is winter but there was very little grass making any shot very difficult. Greens were ok.

Pace of play was very slow and we couldn’t figure out why. We were behind a twosome who were waiting for shots to the green that there was no way they could make, like waiting for the second shot on a par 5 thinking that they might hit the foursome that was still 300 yards away. No way were they going to make the green but they must have thought it was the Masters. Anyhow, lots of mud, very poor playing speed and not much to offer here in the winter. We’re local so will likely come back but not till the grass is growing again.

Let me start by saying I like this course. I like the layout, I like the carts, I like the staff and I know the course was recently taken over by a group of concerned residents. But their problems still remain.

While some traps are pristine (raked with new sand) the others (majority) are weedy, full of water or just plain unkept. There is algae on some tees because they don't get enough sun. Some trees need to be taken down.

It was wet when I played but most of the local courses haven't had very many dry days since a big rain. I'll keep playing this course but will wait until spring/summer gets here and see how much it has improved.

This course gets better every week it is being quickly transformed into the best value course. In the area

Since the arrival 4 weeks ago of the new grounds man “Sonny” this course is being transformed from a neglected course that had a good outlay ,but was very scruffy into a well kept course that improves every week

I have never seen such a quick turn around on a golf course

This new ground keeper is transforming this course. If he stays here he will have this course rivalling most of the Hilton head courses. Well done sonny

The last time I played here he starter made us wait 20 minutes even though our tee time was 12 minutes away and no one was on the Tee Box this may be why the Savannah Morning News had a critique of the golf course today asking why no one played Southbridge anymore

I had a friend visit from out of state, and I we were both pleased with the course condition, pace of play and the staff. And I was very pleased with the cost. Great day!

Have played here several times. Course is always in pretty good shape however this time, the fairways are getting pretty thin on grass cover. Makes a clean fairway shot kind of difficult. Greens are great. Staff very friendly. We took a 3pm tee time and there were few other players out. Pace was great, nobody pushing us. Only suggestion is that the course could use some watering, especially the fairways.
