As previous reviews state, the construction was a bit of an issue. I did enjoy the round and despite the construction would play the course again, even with the construction. The staff is excellent, in many ways much friendlier and more helpful than the higher cost championship courses in the area. For a relaxing round this course along with it's sister course "Legacy" is the ticket.
Cheap, but good!
This course is undergoing major construction at the moment, however it only directly impacts 2-3 holes on the course. This course is short, easy, and in slightly better condition than you may expect for such a busy executive course. This course is VERY PUBLIC, dudes in shorts and flip flops and tank tops out there. For it being so short, you'd think you would get through a round quick, but that is NEVER the case. This is where that beginners (kids, women) and bad golfers go to play so get ready to sit behind some super slow garbage players. Seems like tee times start every 3-5 mins so you'll be right on the group ahead of you and get pressed by the group behind you the whole course. Other than that, I shot 3 over, the greens are surprisingly in great shape.
Course under construction
This course was under construction with several temporary holes or shortened holes. This info needs to be on the Golf Now site so other know this before making a reservation.
A good value and fun course
I enjoyed this course. It was in good shape, and "under construction" due to ongoing projects, but they were up front on all of this and it did not impact my round. This is an executive course and I like playing this type of course from time to time. A good variety of holes and a challenge. It was fun.
Under Repair
Construction barriers and piles of dirt in the fairways and along the border of dug up cart paths was no fun. Also cart path only play was an extra joy. This was my last time at this golf course.
Interesting Course
Greens were kind of slow, but the course is kind of challenging. Play 10 to 15 yds extra in elevated greens.
Good speed
Good pace to finish with my wife.
Play all the clubs in your bag
Great little course that lets you play all the clubs in your bag and spend all day doing it. Nice practice range, friendly staff. Course is in good condition and you can 18 holes in 2 hours most days and on weekends around 3.5 to 4 hours instead of 5 plus on "longer" course. Great place to play after work during the week.
greens in great shape
pin placements definitely provided you with some challenging puts!!
Many positive improvements
I played the course in about 2+ hours on a Wednesday afternoon and it was great. The few other groups on the course moved along so even as a single, there was no holdup! I've played this course many times in the past and must say this is the best condition I've even seen out there! The greens were very nice, and the tee boxes had been mown...fairways were good too considering the near drought conditions in this area recently! In fact my only even slightly negative was the a couple of areas mid-back nine were soggy from being over watered I guess, but not really an issue for a ball in play! I'll be back! Fun afternoon!
Course short but sassy
Nice course for the 18.00 special.Narrow fairways and lots of hills.
Keep ball n fairway , and can putt well a good score at the end of the round.
New ownership has some work to do
The course is pretty decent. Good greens, nice fairways but the tee boxes... some of them are pure dirt and most are so hard you have a hard time getting your tee into the ground.
Got paired up with two nice dudes that told me the course (and its sister next door Legacy Links) have been sold and that major renovations will be made.
Hopefully they will include new tee boxes because the course itself is pretty nice.
Fun Course, Reasonably Priced
I played this course with a friend of mine. The pace of play was awesome. We finished 18 holes in less than 3 hours. Greens were in good shape. Some of the tee boxes did not have adequate grass. Overall, it was a good experience.
Great exec course and a good value.
The new owners are doing an awesome job with this track. I expect as time goes on it will only get better. I think they should look into serving higher quality foods. Possibly partner with a local company to bring in something other than dogs. But I do like what I see and it slowly transformes into a better track. Lastly on 11, I suggested they install a bell at the booth of the cart path. You can't see anyone in the fairway from the tee box because of the elevator hill.
Course being overhauled
The course is in the middle of a major renovation. The chainsaws were not buzzing. The course was not crowded so I played at my pace. The fairways are almost grown in. The greens are at the start of aireation and the the rebuilt traps are now full of sand. The greens mostly rolled smooth and were not all just bumpy. The best feature is the price. Golf Now hot price was $11. The course is not pretty yet but plays very good. High value at these prices.
Don't play here for at least a year
With new ownership came the investment of 1.5 million into the course, which sounds great and will be in about a year. Foxcreek was more concerned with major renovations than providing a quality round of golf. The course was in the worst shape I've ever seen it. Bunkers unattended, construction crew working in middle of your backswing, no cart girl out, greens not blown, you name it and they handed done it because again, concerned more with the major renovations than the details. This course will be nice once all that happens but I would give them at least a year to get their stuff together. Also there were 2 managers in the pro shop when we arrived but they seemed distant or distracted. Didn't say hi to us and actually kind of ignored us. It all was off putting and 8 wouldn't recommend playing here unless spending 15$ or less, otherwise it's just not worth it.
Improving quickly
Fox creek is an executive course with many par 3s and few par 4s. The course is currently under new management, so it is undergoing some changes. Some of the changes are already great, for example the fairways are more lush. The bunkers are currently being redone, but in a few months the course will look great. Just give it time.
