Slightly over priced and waited almost an hour
I booked the tee time at 9pm the wednesday night before through Golf Now. When we arrived our 8:15am tee time had been given to a regular group that plays every Thursday apparently. We were told we would not be able to get on until 9:15am which was an hour past what I had paid for. I wouldn't have minded 30 minutes but an hour? Really?
The greens are in HORRIFIC condition. They look like a 13 yr old boys acne face, with sploches of dead grass that make putting not only challengeing, but down right frustrating. The tee boxes are uneven and poorly maintainted although not nearly as bad the greens were.
Their pracitce facilities are "ok" but you cant see where your wedge shots land on the range due to a elevated tees. The closest shot you can see land is 140 yds. No practice bunkers.
I think the cost a regular NON-discounted round is rediculous. Its an executive course with a cheap full size course price. $29 during the week witha cart. For $10 more I could go to Marietta City Club which is significantly more well maintained and their practice facilites are AMAZING!
I'm not happy with Fox Creek to say the least for the tee time issue mostly. All the other stuff is jsut to lett hem know they are asking a lot for fees without having the facilities to back it up.
Nice course
My friend and I played their for the first time. We enjoyed the staff and the course is maintained. They have a big driving range with many hitting stations. I will play their again. ENJOY
This course is great to work on your short game.
Always enjoy playing Fox Creek. Surprisingly kept very nice considering the time of the year. Fairways were great along with the greens.
The course is convenient but messy from recent rains.
In general, the course is nice for its size and it is convenient for Smyrna and nearby residents. Recent rains left much small debris on the grounds, interfering with fairway play. Some of the tee boxes are bare. The greens are OK.
Terrible management
Arrived at the course and they were 1 hour behind on tee times and out of carts. Left are we did not feel like waiting over an hour ..
The greens were in condition.
The course was vey challenging and fun to play. A nice variety of holes.
A nice course you can in and out in less 3 hours.
A nice course you can in and out in less than 3 hours, the condition of green is good.
Quick & fun
Have played this course a number of times, especially when introducing someone to the game. Fun, easy, straight forward course. Good quick round usually. If the course isn't too busy you can knock this round out in 2 hours. Easy and pleasant to walk too. They have a great practice facility as well, love the putting green. It's huge, you don't feel cramped up when there is a few people there. There are many parallel fairways, so you do need to pay attention. A lot of hackers play there because of the easy play but at times you can feel like a target. The course is usually in pretty good shape, and the greens are well done. The tee boxes are usually the only spots that are a bit rough.
Great course to work on the short game with 11 par 3 holes.
I always enjoy playing at Fox Creek. Reasonable green fees; this course really helps me work on my low irons and low hybrids. The course is pretty well maintained and the greens are always in great shape. Great course to play and work on improving your game.
Fun fast golf
Great for a quick round. Nice scenery. Staff is friendly. Nice bang for your buck course.
Great course to fine tune the short game
This is a great executive course. The greens are well maintained and really challenging. Personally, I think that Legacy next door has tougher greens, but Fox Creek forces you to use more than just your 9 iron and PW every hole. Fox Creek has a great combination of holes that really challenge every iron in your bag and your putter. I highly recommend this course for anyone that is looking to up their iron game/short game and putting. I really enjoyed playing on the course and would definitely rate is as one of my favorite courses in the Atlanta area so far. Will definitely be returning...OFTEN!!!
Fun little course for the money
This course is short; there's only one par 5 and I hit gap wedge into it on my second shot if that gives you any idea. It's mostly made up of par 3s and short par 4s. You barely need to hit driver here; most of the time you could get away with hitting a 3 wood or hybrid and be under a hundred yards from the green. If you're accurate with your driver though, you can drive a few of the par 4s.
The greens were in pretty good shape (some on the back were not great), and the fairways were decent for the most part. Teeboxes were hard as asphalt tho, and a few in the shade were dying.
Staff was nice, but I have a pet peeve about them: they won't hesitate to stick your group with more people. The starter loves foursomes at this course and will arrange you to be in one if he can.
The layout is fun for a short course and I had a great time out there. If you can play it for $25 or less, go for it. If the price is more than that, you might want to look elsewhere for more value
Great course for begginers
This executive course is fun with groups of new golfers. It has some tricky shots. But most are short iron shots that make learning fun for begginers.
Short Course
This is a very short course. You almost don't need a cart if you use one. There are way too many par 3's and only one par 5. The holes and tees are sitting right on top of one another so if you are not an accurate hitter, you will hit into or on top of players on other holes and/or tees. I would definitely not pay their full price to play. I paid $18.00 to play and that's about as much as I would pay. Thank you golfnow.com. Otherwise, it's a pretty course and the greens and fairways are in excellent shape.
Old favorite not so much anymore
The facilities and course are starting to show their age and, consequently, the value for the money is less than average. I would conditionally recommend the course to a friend. It's a good track for working on your game; it's just too short to really challenge.
