Good experience

Second time playing this course, which is making big strides. Very friendly staff. The starter did a nice job keeping things moving and making sure everyone teed off on time. Pace of play wasn't bad, we saw a course marshall making the rounds so at least this course is trying to keep rounds to 4hrs and fifteen minutes for foursomes. The course is getting better and better. Tee boxes need some love but the fairways are good and the greens are solid. The layout is fun--challenging but not gratuitously so.

Getting back to what it once was

You could once count on this course for a fair, medium price and quality golf experience. It had some of the most consistent greens in the area. That was until the previous ownership/management nearly ran it into the ground by instating disastrous policies like making the range available ONLY with tee times (!!!), and NEVER aerating the greens. Things had deteriorated to the point of “goat track” qualification and I didn’t play this course for nearly 2 years despite it being five minutes away.

Kudos to the new management for doing their best to turn it around. The staff is friendly. (Really, is that sooo hard?). The food in the grill is excellent. The recently double punched greens are almost fully healed and putting very true at medium speed. Pace of play was a bit slow but that was primarily one player in the group directly ahead who had no business playing the tips.

Keep up the good work guys!

Good Value - Fun Course

First time playing and it was nice. I did go mid-week on a day off so I can't really comment on Pace of Play during the weekend, it was wide open when I went. costed me $35 + $5 bkg fee.

The Greens are currently in good shape, the traps were decent, grass was cut and fairways were fine. The only downside was some rough cart paths but that is the least of my concerns when evaluating a course. The course itself was great.

It has some fun and challenging holes, varying layouts, elevation changes, and some beautiful views.

I think this is a solid $60-70 value course, so if you're considering booking for less I think you'll you be happy with it.

Country Club of Gwinnett - Great Value, but Be Ready for the Pace

I snagged a Hot Deal for $20, which is fantastic value for this course, especially given how often I play here. It's consistently a solid option for the price.

However, be warned: pace of play can definitely be a challenge. While I'm not a scratch golfer, I always make sure to keep things moving. This course tends to attract a lot of newer golfers, which often translates to slower rounds. If you value a quick pace, this might test your patience.

Also, a crucial tip for anyone struggling with accuracy: bring extra balls! The 'rough' here is essentially the surrounding forest, so stray shots are almost certainly gone for good.

getting better every time I come

green is getting better, fairway is good. Need get rid of some under-behaved players. Course provides sand box. Still saw many divots without filling sands at tee box. Very friendly staff.

Fun Track

The course continues to improve. Enjoyed the new GPS system, helped with some blind shots. People were friendly and the food was really good. A couple of bare spots but nothing like the last couple of years.

Course Conditions

Some of the conditions the day I played were nothing the course could have done anything about (raining everyday for 2+ weeks prior), greens recently aerated which sucks and as a golfer we know it necessary, but no grass on tee boxes is unacceptable. We heard while on course that things are on the mend. I hope so. I liked the layout and would love playing it again if the website description of meticulously maintained, was the case.

Looks to be improving

From reading recent reviews I was a little worried but it looks like the management are investing quite a bit of money. Tee boxes and greens need a little work but once they sort that out I think it will be a top course in the area. It was clear that work is going on with the greens so just the tee boxes to go.
