Starters can be a bit pushy..We were 5 min ahead of pace and the guy still said something. Other than that and very limited/mediocre hot food options, this place is a gem.
Great course, but it's early in the season.
Due to some rainy days previous to the round, it was cart path only which nobody likes but necessary to preserve the course.
Hilldale has some of the best greens in the area but they were not up to par for smoothness or speed (very slow).
This was still a challenging course and glad we had to play it.
Mixed Bag
I have been here about 10 times and pace of play is always an issue, but for the price you deal with it, however almost 5 hours on a Wednesday? It was cart path only and the drunk group in front of us had a hard time walking back and forth to the cart, then I saw this group after the round do something I have never seen at a course before. They were all urinating in the lot and yucking it up. Bathroom was 50 feet away. I did say something to who I though was an employee, to be fair he might not of been who said "well when you gotta go you gotta go". New carts are nice but the GPS is all wonky and shutting the carts down all the time. That needs to be fixed. Employees agreed it was a nuisance. I'll go back but if the same things happen I wont go again.
Too Early for this course
Played today. No tee boxes were ready. Several holes mushy and poor. If you're not ready, just say so. Just because the temps are up,doesn't mean the course is. Hope to be back in Summer to get my money's worth.
Course was wet but it’s march so, I really can’t complain

They have multiple tee boxes covered and only allowed us to play 9 holes when we paid for 18
A Good Course to work on your game
First thing is you know what you are paying for. Not a top course in the area but a course you can enjoy working on your game.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Good to see maintenance is seeding all tee boxes and removing dead trees and brush. Another plus was new blacktop on cart paths where needed.
I know that they can’t do much about all the geese since course is surround by preserve areas.
