Great design.
Great Robert Trent Jones layout, course was in good condition the greens were rolling a little slower then in the past but overall the course was in good condition.

Played Hilldale for the first time in over 10 years, and it was nice to play it again.
PACE: The course was packed, and the pace was slow. Our group took just over 5 hours to complete our round.
CONDITIONS: Like all Chicagoland courses in early June 2023, this course needs rain. That being said, the greens are playable and the fairways were reasonable. The bunkers were a bit firm.
STAFF: Got me checked in and out on the course. There was a ranger, but there wasn't much he could do this day. He was friendly and encouraging.
VALUE: Greens fees are inline with prices for the area (which, IMO, is a few dollars high).
LAYOUT: Lots of interesting holes. Water does come into play, but isn't overwhelming. It is demanding off the tee, but not too penal if you miss Some of my favorites are #2, #5, #10, #11, #15, and #17. This course is very walkable.

Pace of play
The back 9 was painfully slow. 3 hours for 9 holes is ridiculous. There was a 6 some ahead of us. I do love the layout of the course with a lot of elevation changes. Greens are challenging.

Good round
I've played this course a few times. It is in better shape than I've ever seen it. Made the golf quite enjoyable.
Their food/beverage staff needs improvement.

Great course! Rude and unprofessional staff
Starter and staff members are rude and unprofessional. They hate there lives and are miserable, so in return they portray that on you. The bartender was great though!

Great Course!
I'll make this short and sweet. Great course. It was busy, but streamlined. I was able to get out by myself instead of joining a 3 some. I enjoy being able to just relax and play my music while not annoying anyone. Tee boxes were all in good shape and the greens were nice. Rough wasn't too tall either. Good course for the average golfer! I will be playing 18 again wit some people once the weather gets a bit warmer!
