Stone Mountain Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf that are a part of Stone Mountain Park, which is one of the Southeast's most popular attractions. The Lakemont Course winds around the beautiful Stone Mountain Lake through forests of Georgia pines and hardwoods. John LaFoy, a native of the state, designed the golf course. He incorporated his signature mounding and dramatic bunkering, which is enhanced even further by the wildly undulating terrain. The lake is more prominent on the front nine where water comes into play on six holes. The back nine still features water on four holes, but there are more rocky outcroppings, providing different but equally stunning scenery. Stunning mountain views can be enjoyed from every hole and golfers will also be able to glimpse the famous Confederate memorial carving featuring Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson.

Beautiful Layout with great views!!

We had a pairing of 3 and had a great time! We got a great rate and played around 2 with great weather. Some of the fairways had some rough spots and some greens had sandy spots but others were perfect. Would definitely play again! Only complaint was having to pay 20$ to park so just add that to your green fee or split that between your group and ride together.

Nice overall course in the Atlanta area

Very nice course layout. Very good maintenance. Good overall. Love to play here. Be careful of snakes when looking for your ball in the woods. Always carry a club. Spotted two small snakes today.

Amazing Course. Friendly Staff. Amenities are spread out too far and have to carry alot of belongings a far distance.

Great Course! Friendly Staff, but amentities are so far spread out. You have to carry all your things from the parking lot to the clubhouse, which is about 300 yards away. Then, if you want to hit golf balls, its a solid 5 minute drive with the golf cart. You need to arrive at a minimum 1 hour prior to tee time to get set up.

Value Simply Doesn’t Meet Expectations

A friend and I were very excited to play this course, having lived in the area for quite some time. When we arrived, staff was friendly and courteous. No problems there. Practice range was adequate, but pretty far from the first tees. Practice green was maintained. This, unfortunately, was not representative of the rest of the course. Fairways were okay, not great but expected from the weather. Drainage is a major issue around the course, especially on the fairway edges. The greens were atrocious. Some partially diseased, most damaged due to lack of divot repairs and care. The greens were also very “furry” and inconsistent, and fringes were overtaking the edges. For the money we paid, it was quite a disappointment. Not sure I’ll be playing the longer course, as we just can not justify the lack of value.

What a view

Played 3 days in a row. Great layout and friendly staff. But the green speed is slow and condition of green needs improvement. Bunkers do not have much sand.
