Beauty
My biggest impression was the scenic beauty of the course. It was in good condition, you could see where improvements were being made. The recent weather in the area caused some conditions that I found on all the area course I played this weekend ( debri from excess water on the fairways).
Light rain very humid Med. fast greens
Fantastic Staff and course. Not an easy track if you can't find the fairway. The tee shot should be in the right position to attack the flag.

Excellent Hidden Course
This course is reasonably priced in comparison with surrounding courses. The staff I interacted with are also very friendly and able to help with any needs I have! The course is in fairly good condition yet is challenging given its difficult layout.

Save your time and money
Once upon a time this course must have been nice.
Tee boxes were dirt and sand.
Fairways were hard as a rock... you could hit middle fairway and bounce immediately left or right or bounce straight into OB.
Greens not terrible.
If the tee boxes weren’t bad enough they have let the course brush and over hanging limbs hang over masking some shots impossible.
My buddies said the fact that this course was more than $30 is a joke.
Save your time and money.

Disappointing and average at best. Cool layout but seems run down. Greens were best part of the course....smooth and consistent
This was my first time playing this course. The main reason we booked at smoke rise was due because I felt I was getting a good deal. It seemed that a weekday price to play this course was around $60. I was able to get a “hot deal” and used a promo code so I only paid $38, which I thought was a bargain.
First off, we drove into the parking lot and the place looked abandoned because the grass and shrubbery were overgrown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The practice area was average. The tee boxes were very confusing, almost every hole was a quest to find the right tee box. We even tee’d off on the wrong box on a par 3. We didn’t even realize it until we got on the green.
The greens are the best part about this course. Medium speed with a smooth roll. The greens were very consistent from hole to hole. The fairways, tee boxes, and the rough all need some serious attention. After 9 holes, we stopped at the restaurant to get some food. However, the restaurant was closed and all the doors were locked.
Overall, this course was fun to play but was not in pristine condition. In its current condition, I do not believe it’s worth $40-$60 per round. The most I would pay to play this course again would not be more than $30. This course has potential through the ceiling, but will take a lot of work and commitment from the course staff.

This course needs tons of work.
This is one of the most disappointing golf outings Ive ever been on. The tee boxes are all sand for the most part, the course erision is so bad that it spread into the fairways. We had multiple drives it down the middle of the fairway that ended up hitting erosion spots and rolling into the woods. The cart paths are extreamly sandy which has our carts sliding all over the place down hills. I will say however that the greens were in incredible condition.
Greens need the maintenace.
Unfortunately the reens were not maintained good compared to usual. There were not cut nor rollered. Everything else was great as usual.

Smoke Rise needs some work
It pains me to have to write this review as I've many good rounds at this course for a great rate. This weekend that was not the case. I hope they can right the right the ship over there.
First the good things: Pace of play excellent, Greens were in really good shape, bunkers were good, and the staff was pleasant.
Now the not so good. We played from the gold tees and the condition of most of the tee boxes was bad, it didn't look like anyone was even trying. Lumpy, bare spots, erosion leading up to the tee boxes and there were not really any prime grassy spots to hit off of without a tee. This being an issue when 75% of the par fours are a 220 shot or less off the tee.
The fairways need some love too. The many divots need attention, the grass was brown(bad news for a course in mid May before the real heat. Then there was the general erosion around the rest the rest of the course that needs attention.

Wide open but not
Course I’s decently maintained Staff was very friendly. Cart service was available. Greens are excellent and fast. Fairways seem wide open but drives get lost due the large degree of sloping. The course overall is very hilly. A challenging course that dares you to beat it.

Tasty Greens
All around fantastic course. Greens are in great shape. A few tee boxes need some work (one or two had little/no grass). Other than that, zero complaints. Friendly staff. Not the longest course, but not forgiving to wayward shots. Play there. You won’t be disappointed.

Finally!
If you're looking for a course that challenges you mentally and requires shot-placement to make par, then this is it.
Tees: some in shaky condition, but still playable. People need to pick up their tees, broken or not; there is no maid service and groundskeepers have better tasks.
Fairways: great shape, good drainage (rained last three days), nicely cut.
Rough: forget trying to find your ball if you go out, it's a jungle. Play conservatively, many greens are closely protected
Bunkers: even after the rain, most were drained. Great condition, well-cut lips, nicely placed for risk/reward
Greens: great shape, challenging to putt (multiple breaks), good speed, no burns and ball marks repaired (it's just common courtesy!)
Carts/paths: great carts (ball/club washers and mini-coolers, USB ports), paths are rough in places and grades are steep in some areas. Good braking and acceleration.
Proshop: very helpful, quite professional, a real pleasure.

Excellent value and very challenging
The course was in good condition but I love this tough layout. You have to be accurate or you are done for. My wife and I had a great round. The staff was friendly. The greens are fast. It’s one of my favorite course in Atlanta.
