About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Tee times do not matter here.
Apparently tee times do not matter here. I arrived well before my tee time to warm up. Went up to the starter 10 minutes before my tee time and he says he’s already sent my group off and that I need to catch up. He told me I could not tee off on hole #1. Told him my tee time and it was my first time here. He said when he runs things he sends people off early. Why even have tee times if you’re not going to stick to them.

Very slow . Many golfers were slow and we're not ready to play normal golf. Please take a lesson and learn golf ediquit and start out on a par 3 cours
Marshall was out on course but never did anything to speed up play. I quit after 11 holes .

Great time
Had an excellent time playing Sugar Hill. It was a perfect day and I hope to get back out there soon. Shot a 98 so it wasn't my best round, couldn't get it together off of the tee. But all in all had a blast!

Fun Course for Good Friends!
It's been awaile since I played this course. I was immediately impressed with the overall improvements. We anticipated a busy round because the weather and the scenery was beautiful! So we limited the joke telling until after we teed off and finished putting. We will definitely return soon.

Poor grounds keeping and entitled people
Being rushed by a group of guys behind us who were literally running to their carts after hitting their balls. We offered to let them play ahead of us numerous times but they acted like they didn't speak English until they called the Marshall who didn't care to hear our side of the story. It's a public course so you're bound to end up playing behind beginners that take their time.
Also the grounds need a lot of upkeep done for the price they are charging. All of the t boxes on the part 3s were nothing but dirt. No grass what so ever. Found it hard to find a good patch of grass on the other holes as well.
Finally, the course does not allow personal coolers or outside food or drinks. This would be okay if they had a beer cart, but they don't.
