About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Great course
We read all the bad reviews about the course and the peopl, but decided to play there anyway.
We had low expectations.
But the course was great and people were delightful.
In fact, course condition was great and what a challenging layout……..just beautiful.
People could not have been nicer too.
If I wanted to be critical, I would say the golf carts need replacing……seat covers ripped.
Other than that, a great place to play.

Worst Golf Experience Ever- Don’t Play Here!
We will never go back here again. They don’t let you pick up clubs at your car. They stack the T-Times next to each and the play is very slow. The fairways are a mess and have hazards throughout the course. Greens are bumpy and slow. Some cart paths are dangerous to go on. There was construction on hole 9.. Everyone we met that worked there had really bad attitudes including the Head teaching pro, who yelled at people on the course and the driving range. We will never go back to this rat trap golf course again!

Poor Green Conditions
What's happening ....as all the Greens had lined weed growth that affects putting?

Good course for the money
No complaints with the course. There are some challenging holes and also some easy ones. It is hilly with several holes quite uphill. The condition of the course was good, a few spots here and there but greens were good if a little slow. My main complaint is with the service at the front office and the grill. Neither one was very friendly, this is the 4th or 5th time playing and the gentleman in the pro shop has never even tried, it is always like you are inconveniencing him. The starter and ranger were very friendly and helpful. I will play this course again because it is convenient and affordable but won't count on service.
On a side note, the computer was down and they couldn't process credit card payments when I arrived. The ball machine at the ranger was dispensing less than half the normal amount of balls. Everyone was complaining, it may have been due to the computer issue.

Solid course, worth the hike.
Great course for the price, greens are so-so, but very manageable. Fairways are forgiving and the OB is very "find your dang ball" friendly.
Pace is solid enough, not too much traffic, even on a weekend.
Biggest snag is the confusingly agitated at all times person working the kitchen. So sorry I asked for food you provide here I guess. And cmon, if you get asked about your day, don't point at the tip jar and say "Bad".
Beautiful views, friendly course staff, and highly manageable course layout. Will definitely play again, but will just bring a few protein bars instead.
