About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Marshall stole my cellphone!!!!
I never write bad reviews, but this one is necessary. I just read all of the reviews and noticed that I am not the only person that have issues with the employees.
MARSHAL STEALS MY CELLPHONE!!!!
I have been playing at Sugar Hill Golf Club for over 15 years, but after my experience today I will not be back.
Before I paid, I asked if I could play by myself since they were not very busy. They said that I could tee off by myself at 1:20. They had a twosome at 1:30 and no one after that until 1:50. I was on the back nine with a twosome in front of me and the closest players were 4 holes behind me. I WAS NOT HOLDING ANYONE UP!!! I shanked my tee shot so I dropped another ball and hit it. The Marshall came up behind me and said that I can only play 1 ball. I told him that I hit one in the woods so I had to take a drop. He said that I needed to go look for the ball and then drop where it went in. I thought he was joking at first, but then he said it again as he drove away. I hit 2 the next time to be a smart aleck so he came back by and told me to give him the golf cart key. I was in shock that this was happening so I put the key in my pocket and went to finish the hole. He started raising his voice at me and then he STOLE MY CELLPHONE. I told him not to take my phone and he said that I can it get back from his manager. I finished the round and got my phone back, but the manager was just as rude as the Marshal. I told the Manager that I raked every bunker that I was in and sanded all of my ball marks and was wondering why he was so concerned about me hitting more than one ball, especially since I was not holding anybody up.
Being more friendly and using common sense might help your golf club fill up your tee times.
Finally Less Humid and Slightly Cooler in the morning
Nice round. Encountered some slow play but wasn’t bad. Finished in 4 1/2 hrs.

This course is simply great! I was pleasantly surprised and I definitely will be back, I did not finish the 18th due to a slow four ball and the rain beating down on me. But the greens just may be the obeys part of their course. The toilets on the course need a little work though

Dirty range balls
The balls are very dirty. I never knew this was an issue until I noticed the pock marks on my driver face.

Greens are the slowest I’ve ever played on. Cups are fringed and not smooth. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape.

One of my Favorites
Highly recommend this course. I live in Roswell, and Sugar Hill is about 35 min drive. This is my new favorite course. The layout is challenging and the greens are in great shape. This course takes pride in the upkeep and maintenance. The staff is friendly as well. I can't think of anything negative from my experience.

Great but Mother Nature…
Took advantage of a twilight tee time. Go through the front nine and then on the back nine the thunder and the lightning started so we had to finish. Unfortunately only nine holes were played.

Much Improved: I’ll play more often
8 months since my last visit, this course is MUCH improved.
Driving range mats, overall course conditions, waster hazards, drainage, greens conditions…even culture (not a T-shirt in sight). The efforts are clear and I’ll play here more often. SH and Apalachee about equal now. Lanier still a step up. This is a High value for the money
Cons: new sand needed in every bunker
Suggestion: new range balls. 1-small bucket per round included?
