About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Nice little muni course
Greens aren't great, very slow.l, played the tips which are blue, very short course. Target golf. Course has potential. Staff very friendly I'd recommend if u can't get out on a higher end course.
Always fun
Good elevation changes, greens are healing from being aerated recently, most traps are poor. Tee boxes are decent.
Good Course
Greens punched, coming in nicely VERY slow.
We had not been advised that the greens had been aerated recently, still retained large holes, and were very slow and bumpy. Otherwise, fairways were in good condition overall. Although the course was cartpath only because of recent rains.

Great price for a much nicer course than most of the others around
Average Course, but....
The course is average for the cost, but playing in the afternoon was not enjoyable, because all of the facilities closed after we started our round and there wasn't any water on the course at all. All bone dry in 90 degree weather. Barely made it through the round without passing out. Would have been nice if we were prepared.
Always a hood challenge
The greens were aerated within the last two weeks would be my guess. They are coming in nicely. Normally in very good shape. Challenging layout as shown in the course rating numbers. More people at this course need to their appropriate tee box.
Greens aeriated but course was in good condition. Cart path only due to rain earlier in the week. Nice course for the price.
Course conditions
Overall, this is a good course to challenge your golf skills throughout the course. The greens could be rolled or improved to accommodate aeration.
The course is overly challenging for its level and layout.
The course is close to home, reasonably priced, and the carts are decent — but overall, it’s just too punishing for what it is. Multiple holes lack any forgiveness, and while I’m not a bad golfer, it feels unnecessarily difficult. Course maintenance could also be improved. For about the same price, I can play Trophy Club and get a much better experience. The sand pits were rocky... multiple holes have zero forgiveness around the green, and if your not straight your in the forest. This was my second time playing here, and it only confirmed my initial impression. I wouldn’t return. Again, I'm normally in the 80s 90s so average golfer here saying it's just not worth it.
