Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

I think it's crazy

I took the time to go to the golf course with an excited heart even during my busy time. After making the first tee shot and riding a golf cart for 50m, the battery ran out. The staff said that the golf cart was not ready, so he waited for an hour or I'll give you a rain check, so I told him to play next time. It's the first time in my golf life. The staff were kind, but it's unfair to accept money from customers without preparing a golf cart. I won't go again.

Great layout, fun course, no carts

It is wide and fun and hilly, and even for it being the dormant season, the greens are green... And a little bit slow... But the fairways are in great shape, and I can't wait to go back once everything turns green again. Main issue? Not enough carts. You want to know you're walking before you show up, particularly for a hilly golf course, but they ran out of carts, and some of the carts don't hold battery charges. Hopefully the course can get that squared away going forward, because it's a lot of fun to play!

Sugar Hill Golf

I enjoy the course and layout. We had to wait 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time for a cart. No range balls were available to hit before the round. Maybe it was due to unseasonable warm weather and a lot of people wanting to play. Only got in 12 holes. Should have been able to get in at least 16 holes. Was not notified in the clubhouse that there was a delay.
