About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Getting Better
We were pleasantly surprised after playing last year on this course which was a disaster. Looks like they are investing back into the course and on their way to making it a nice course.
The problem though with a public course, is you have to play with folks who don't quite understand golf course etiquette. We had 1 group in front of us, that felt that you shouldn't have to hit the ball until the group ahead of them was off the course. Then, the group behind them had 6 players playing. There was no ranger insight for the whole day. We had to skip 3 holes to get ahead of these two idiots.
Will be back
Enjoyed the course, unfortunately we had some very slow players that backed up play on the backside. Regardless, it was a fun day and really enjoyed the course.

Quick Afternoon 9 Holes
Come here often. Played about once a week with the kid. Challenging course. Lots of elevation changes and hills, slopes, but pace of play was good, under 2 hrs for 9 holes, 2 small buckets of range balls, 9 holes for two, about $55. Can’t complain except hate losing balls.

Good Course
Beautiful setting, all holes are different, opportunity to use all clubs, very friendly staff, rude slow foursome playing six hour round did not want us to play through, slow greens.

I played here a few times. But this is my and 3 others the last time we play Sugar Hill. So many better places to play in the area.
