About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Good course
Challenging course but enjoyable. Bunkers had quite a bit of water in them. Definitely a good price for 18 holes

Cow Pasture
I’ve played this course and it used to be good. Last two times it has been poor to fair at best. Not sure what happened, but need some help with the conditions. Probably want play here again for a long time.

...always enjoy getting out on SHGC. For the price the greens are as good as you will get and course is quite playable for all.

Interesting layout
Lots of elevation changes. Fast greens with subtle undulations. Wide fairways. Fun course to play. Friendly staff. Good food. I enjoy playing there.

Fun course but got lost often trying to find the next hole
We had a great time on the course Sunday. The staff was friendly and the course is fun to play. The golf cart we had did sound like it was loosing parts each time we drove to the next hole but the major frustration we had during the day was finding our way around.. There are no direction markers and several of the tee boxes didn't even have the markers on them so we would drive right past them not knowing. I'm glad we had a regular player at the course with us or we would have gotten lost more than we did.

Nice Layout with great potential
Great course for a weekday last minute round. There were some issues with bumpy greens, tee boxes without markers and some issues with the cart path. None of those issues would stop me from playing there again.

Course in great condition. Greens were very nice & rolled true. Tees could be better but getting a lot of play these days.

This course is a goat path.
The tee boxes and Greens are in terrible condition. The golf carts are gas powered and the one we used had very bad brakes, which is not good for the mountains you have to climb. If we had not joined with a player who knew the course, we would have been lost several times as it it not marked well. For the most part, we did not enjoy our round at all and will never return.

Get A New Starter
This course is great for beginners since its is so cheap. Greens needed some work but were usable. Someone must have peed in the starters cheerios the day we played. Total Grump!!! You park and see carts in the parking lot, but then he says you can’t take the cart to load your clubs from the car. Makes no sense, change your policy like other much nicer courses in the area. I go here because it’s close and dirt cheap, but I would much rather play Reunion or Chicopee Woods. Much nicer staff at those courses.
