Great place for the average player
This is a great "B" level course to play. Not very challenging. The Fairways need to be mowed and the Greens are slow. With that being said, I had a great time.
Pine Hills Experience
The course layout is very nice and the course is rather wide open, so slicing on this course will not hurt you too often.
Needs some grass.
No bunkers, although sand patches on green over 1/2" in some areas. Fairways, needed mowing and some grass to mow. Ball looked like it was in the deep rough in the middle of the fairway. Greens and tees brick hard. Price was great, but overall not worth it for anyone with a 12 handicap or less. Not a place to evaluate your game. Staff was friendly.
This course has improve alot the past five year.
The course was excellent condition!
Pine Hills Review
This is a good golf course for beginners and the average golfer. The only improvement I would recommend is more consistency.
Super Friendly & Welcoming Staff---Superb Value
Much tougher layout than I was expecting. All of the Athens area courses we normally play were closed or booked so we gave Pine Hills a shot and glad we did. The course is better than we had heard in every way and the staff's reputation for friendliness is well-earned. Thank you, Ma'am. The downside was the greens were OK but too slow to putt with any accuracy. The tee boxes were also chewed up on most tees. All-in-all, the price is right, you will feel welcomed, and I would play it again if my other options were not available or too pricy.
Forgiving fairways
Good beginner course. Lots of open fairways. Slow greens a few where in bad shape someone had gotten carried away with the mower. Tee boxes are in okay shape.
First time playing Pine Hills
We had passed by this course many times and always wondered about it. We played on a Sunday morning, many foursomes in front of our 3 some, the pace of play was good, we finished in 4 hours. The majority of the greens looked good. The greens putted slower than we were accustomed to. We had a good time.
Very friendly people
I enjoy this course. They are very accomodating and easy to get along with.
Early Season Golf.....
Still missing a lot of grass in fairways, but the price is right.
Great course
This is a great course, can you some small improvements. The layout is very challenging. OnebPar 3 from tip plays 230yards.
Good bang for your buck
Great day of winter golf. The course is in good shape considering all rain. Looking forward to spring golf.
Hole 15 is a challenge.
Good for the money, looking forward to the next time.
Cartpath needs work
This just an average track if you're working on your game. Greens are small and in somewhat decent rollable condition. Cups are not cut good as most of the edges are fuzzy. Ball will not stop if you are on the wrong side of the cup. Fairway needs much grass but your ball will roll a long way. For the price you paid, it's tolerable.
Bang for the buck
This isn't a high dollar course nor does it pretend to be. Played here because other plans fell thru but I had a blast. You can really unload with your driver without getting into much trouble. The course was in pretty good shape for February and my biggest complaint was golfers dragging their feet on the greens and I even saw a few cigarette burns on the greens as well. For the dollar though, its a ton of fun and I'll go back.
Best Place To Work On your Game
I have played this course several times since the summer of 2015. I was told it was a great course to work on your game and the price is like an extended time on the driving range.
There are challenging holes but for the most part the fairway will not hurt you if you slice or hook.
The people that work there are absolutely the friendliest you will will find. After all the rain we had in metro Atlanta we were still given the green light to drive on the fairway with our discretion.
The course is normally not crowded so your pace of play can be relaxed.
Great Course for the money
I have played Pine Hills before about 5 years ago and I didn't think much for the course. I played the course again on 13 Dec, 2015 and it was night and day. This is a nice course for the money, greens where in great shape, and fairways where what you would expect for winter. For the price you pay to play Pine Hills you just can't beat it, a lot of fun for my Sunday Morning foursome and I will becoming back
Love this course for the money, ladies in the office were great.
Course was what I need, not long but open. putting green can be change.
Landscape
The grass on the course was very well kept, no real tall grass; fairways were excellent! First time playing there, will be coming back.
Course is in Great Shape!!!
Wow... not the same course. I use to play this course for practice. After 3 months of not playing (injury), I was shocked and surprised to see what great shape the course was in. The new owner (I don't know who) has put some time and effort in this place. Great value for the money!!!
In the past this course has had a bad reputation for being in poor shape... but not today! Most courses are over grown due to the heat, but not this place. Very well maintained! Fairways in great shape with only a few summer heat spots. But the greens... wow... a little slow but in fantastic shape!!!
