White Deer Run Golf Course
About
Situated on the Cuneo Estate in Vernon Hills, White Deer Run Golf Club has a beautiful landscape dotted with sparkling lakes. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, meaning there are some uneven lies and the occasional blind shot in store for you. There are not many trees but numerous bunkers lurk beside the greens and, of course, water is a pretty prominent presence throughout the golf course. Due to the plentiful and strategically placed hazards, the course puts a premium on accuracy. The layout is challenging but fair and it is also player friendly enough for beginners, offering ample room off of the tees. White Deer Run Golf Club's design contributes greatly to the course's playability, but that is also partly due to the immaculately manicured fairways and fast, well conditioned greens.

Excellent
It was good my friends said good too
If I have a chance we want to come again
Thank you
They should have closed the course
We attemoted to play in the early AM following a 31/2 inch rainfall. I called before 6:00am to check and was told that the course was playable and that they were open.At the first tee the Starter told us that a cart tunnel contecting Holes7 &8 was flooded. We were directed to play #11 after 7 fish through 18 and then go play8,9 &10. Hole 11 was backed up by 3 groups because everyone did not get the same instruction. We gave up and went home. Had they beed upfront withthe early phonecall we could have gone back to bed.
Overpriced
Paid $93 ($86+ $7 for 25 range balls) on a Monday morning. Greens were the only highlight as far as conditions go. Tees and fairways were average at best, and bunkers were completely unmaintained. Not sure what is going on with the conditions here, but for $86 on a weekday, one would think they could keep it better maintained. Cart parts are full of potholes and weeds are overtaking the concrete. Will not be back.
Great Track
White Deer Run does not get a lot of fanfare, but it should. The course plays more than 7,100 yards from the tips and has some really picturesque holes. Grass practice range. Multiple tee sets to accommodate big and small hitters. Combo of narrow and wide ranging fairways call for you to think twice about what to play from the tee on some holes, and let it let loose on others. Tip: use a five iron off the tee on those tight holes. Hit it well and you can still get home in two. Play this course if you have not. You’ll likely love it.
